Growing up in Texas as a boy, I heard more than my share of old timers sitting around holding forth and telling stories (mostly true, too). But this Texas tale from Uncle Jimmy from Spur, TX has to be one of the best and funniest spun stories I’ve ever heard:

Any story involving dynamite and a septic tank is bound to turn out badly for somebody.

  1. That Ol’Boy can talk some shit, can’t he?

  2. That’s hilarious !
I have an uncle who lives in Brazoria County SW of Houston. He’s in his 80′s and I can easily imagine him telling a story like that.
It very likely is true…remember truth is stranger than fiction.

That guy who put the dynamite in the cistern deserves a Darwin Award.

  3. “That’s a true story, I shit you not.”
