Mexico violenceAnd yet our politicians put there fingers in their ears, close their eyes, and pretend that our border is “secure and open for business.”

Great post by the lovely Daphne at Jaded Heaven about her lack of interest in the latest US kinetic military action in Muslimland, while  real war wages much closer to home:

More people were systemically murdered during the last two months in Mexico by narcos than Moammar is accused of bagging in the last three decades to maintain his rule. Moammar is accused of bagging in the last three decades to maintain his rule. We’re living on the edge of a failed state where horrific brutality has become the daily norm and we’re concerned about a toothless monster ruling ten thousand miles away.

Take a small look at what’s happening on your southern border and tell me why Libya is considered a national concern. Mexico is our second major importer of oil, they’re teetering on the brink of a national disaster because we like to get stoned, you’d think it might behoove someone up north to take a scant amount of notice of the excessive pools of bloodshed washing up in our backyard. Color me jaded, but the old axiom of follow the dirty money might apply to our politician’s bald lack of interest in the major warfare being conducted by one of our major trading partners.

Go read the entire post — oh, and GRAPHIC IMAGES warning before you click over there (though you have to scroll down a bit to see them) of the violence in Mexico.

  1. I agree with her. Of course I’ve also suggested that securing the border by putting 10′s of thousands of troops on the border with orders to shoot to kill ANYTHING that comes across for a while now. which doesn’t exactly make me popular in certain circles.

  2. Mike McCaul was on Greta’s show tonight telling her how he is trying to get the federal government to label the Mexican drug cartel “terrorists.” He explained how it would give our government greater latitude in dealing with the violence in Mexico that now bleds over in our nation.

Of course, as Mike explained, the administration (Obama and Napolitano) doesn’t seem to think that Mexico poses any national security problems. Nevermind that people have been beheaded in Arizona, or that Texas cops are being murdered by narcos in our own nation. Nevermind that our border sheriffs, and our Texas Rangers, are receiving death threats from the Mexican narco scum on a daily basis.

But I congratulate Mike. For the first time I heard him say what is true: Calderon doesn’t give a shit. We could clean that rat’s nest out just like we did the narcos in Columbia, but the administration, and especially corrupt Calderon, don’t want to do that.

So more Texans will die. And we will continue to spend tens of millions of our tax dollars to protect a bunch of radical Islamists who still crap in dirt holes. Oh, and France’s supply of oil. Let’s not forget that we have to spend that money to protect France’s oil supply.

And six months from now, after we have armed the Libyan rebels, and another radical Islamist group are in power, like the Muslim Brotherhood is now taking over Egypt, they will tire of fighting each other and will turn on us, using training we gave them and the guns we bought them.

What the hell could go wrong?

  3. Great piece at Flopping Aces.
    Obama goes Rogue:

One cannot help but wonder what kind of thought processes occupy the craniums of Democrats, presuming there are really any to begin with. Apparently showing early signs of dementia, Hillary Clinton demonstrates a complete lack of long term memory with her current opinions. While George Bush was President, it was her opinion that “any kind of strategic bombing” required Congressional approval. What we are doing in Libya is the very “strategic bombing” that Senator Hillary Clinton believed required Congressional approval but now disavows her own words.

“Hypocrite” just doesn’t do the job of describing Democrats any longer. It does not convey the depths of deception and deceit this administration and its supporters have exhibited.

Clinton tells us that Obama can now flaunt the Constitution at will and is no longer answerable or accountable to the people of this country. He’s gone rogue. She suggests that he is free to conduct war (excuse me, kinetic military action) on an unlimited scale without anyone’s approval. Obama is free to invade and occupy Libya for as long as he wants without anyone saying OK. And what’s more, the Obama administration has made clear it could not care less what America thinks.
