Mike Huckabee

Instead of running for President, Huckabee will continue to run one of the worst shows on all of Fox News.

And this, my friends, is good news. Huckabee, Romney, and Newt have all taken a shot at the office. And Conservative voters have found them lacking in the past. The last thing we need going into 2012 against Obama is a re-tread from the past.

Mike Huckabee said Saturday there would be no sequel to his surprisingly strong 2008 White House bid, in which he won the Iowa Republican caucus and finished second in the primaries to Sen. John McCain.

“All the factors say go, but my heart says no,” Huckabee, who was considered the GOP frontrunner in several national polls, said on his Fox News Channel show.

More at Red State, who thinks Huck withdrawing helps Tim Pawlenty and Herman Cain the most.  And Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight also thinks Cain benefits the most.

  1. I think Huckabee is very likeable but he may be better suited for a grocery store manager.

  2. I got to spend about an hour with Gov. Huckabee just before he left office and before he decided to run in ’08. He is a genuinely good man, down to the bone and his life story is inspirational. That said, I think his chance passed in ’08 and am happy for him and his family that he is not entering that meat grinding campaign mode again.

    • I also like Mike Huckabee and believe him to be an honest man of integrity, principle, and faith. But I also don’t think he has the fortitude to take on some of the hardest challenges facing our country, I don’t think he has the fight to really stand up to and then back down the crooks and cheats in the Democrat party. He’d be too concerned with bipartisanship and I believe would be mostly ineffective in implementing a Conservative agenda.

      • He is a fighter when he wants to be, but his general mode is to try and get people to cooperate. It worked for him with the citizens of Arkansas, but not with the remnants of the Clinton machine when he first took over as Governor and it sure won’t work with the rabid libturds in D.C.
Conservatives are enthralled with the more combative personalities that may be candidates, even if they aren’t really conservatives, people like Paul and Christie.
Huckabee made the right decision, conservatives have a head of steam right now and we need someone that will drive that steamroller and squish the libturds and RINO’s. As to the remaining contenders, there are many that can still carry the mantel of social conservativism.

  3. A. it’s not really a shock and as my father pointed out to me..if he was going to announce he was running..LAST week or the week before would have been his last show and he would have said he was leaving FNC. Something I hadn’t give much thought to surprisingly.
