And guess which city is numero uno on that list? That’s right: Austin.
This is no surprise. Austin consistently sits atop Forbes’ annual list of the best cities for jobs and scores highly in other demographics rankings. It is the third-fastest-growing city in the nation, attracting large numbers of college grads, immigrants, and families with young children.
Texas is well represented on this list:
- San Antonio (#4)
- Houston (#5)
- Dallas (#7)
Not on the list? A single city in California, Massachusetts, Michigan, or Illinois.
Gov. Rick Perry and our consistently Conservative-led Legislature are the reason that Texas is thriving, while Liberal-led States are hemorrhaging jobs and people. Under Gov. Perry’s leadership, Texas continues to lead the nation in job creation (more private sector jobs were created in Texas in the last 10 years than all other states combined) . And despite a record influx of job seekers fleeing dying Liberal-led states, the unemployment rate in Texas continues to be below the national average. How did Texas become home to more Fortune 500 companies than any state in the nation? According to Gov. Perry it’s a combination of:
- Low taxes
- A reasonable and predictable regulatory climate
- An educated workforce
Oh…Washington D.C. made the list, too (#6). Of course, while Texas’ cities are on the list for creating a boom in the private sector, Obama has made D.C. a boom town by growing the size of federal government and public sector jobs. Not the same thing.

This trend is a mixed blessing for Texas and native Texans, as too many of those migrants will still have the failed state mind set that they left and be carriers for that virus to infect our state.
I was in Austin in the early 80′s when the first boom came and I didn’t much care for the maladaptive change it brought. I haven’t set foot in Austin city limits since ’86 after vowing to never return.
Before the influx of all the NY, Mass, Ill. and Cali license plates, a traffic jam in Austin was two people at a stop sign at a four way stop intersection, refusing to go until the other car did. It got ugly really fast when all the yankees and fruitcakes showed up.
Haha. My thinking exactly. These liberals are a disease that are looking for a new host to consume now that they fucked up their failed states that they come from.
But it also brings back some of us right thinking people! Still in Beantown, but we’ll be returning to Texas when we get ready to retire.
Too bad you did not stay in Texas, looks liked you carried your puke to another state. Luckily they probably could see through your limited brain cells.
LOL!!! Nothing in Plythyvania…hahaha
“poof the eunuch boy”…eat that bastard! LOL!
Congrats Robbie on your city getting the #1 ranking! (My hometown, Dallas, is #7) I haven’t been to Austin in years and I need to go back to visit, especially the state history museum.
PS–We have another scumbag (Mark Stroman) coming up for execution on the 20th and already Perry’s Facebook page is getting cluttered with euroweenies who want him to commute the sentence. So when you get the chance please provide details as to why the Stro needs to go.
I’ve already written the Stroman post, but it’s not scheduled to run until tomorrow.
OK good. It is these updates that helped me discover UrbanGrounds and the main reason I come over here.
