Mark Stroman

  • Thug: Mark Anthony Stroman (31 at time of offense)
  • Date of Execution: July 20, 2011
  • Date of Crime: October 4, 2001
  • Victim(s): Waquar Hassan (?), Vasudev Patel (49)
  • Last Meal: Chicken fried steak with gravy, a ham-and-cheese omelet with onions and tomatoes, bacon, fried potatoes, fried squash and okra, pork chops with eggs sunny-side up, Dr. Pepper and a pint of vanilla Blue Bell ice cream

UPDATE IV (9:20 HTT): He’s dead Jim. Justice has finally been served.

HUNTSVILLE — A Texas death row inmate has been executed after losing a final court appeal to stop his execution for killing a convenience store clerk during a shooting that he says was retaliation for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Still no word on how many chickens had to die for this piece of trash yet. Time of death: 8:53 p.m.

Last words:

“Even though I lay on this gurney, seconds away from my death, I am at total peace,” he said. He later called himself “still a proud American, Texas loud, Texas proud.”

“God bless America. God bless everyone,” he added, then turned to the warden and said: “Let’s do this damn thing.”

UPDATE IV (6:25 HTT): Reading over at the thug-lover site that the execution has been delayed (not stayed), and the case has been sent back to the 5th to consider the law suit against Gov. Perry. Which, if true, is a joke. Regardless, the death warrant does not expire until midnight tonight, so there is still plenty of time for them to get him strapped and juiced tonight.

UPDATE III (July 20) — The anti-death penalty activists at the Texas Tribune have posted that the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans declined to stay Stroman’s execution.

UPDATE II (July 20): Judgement day for Mark Stroman.

UPDATE: Execution Watch posts will remain at the top of the page until the execution date.

Sometime shortly after 6:00 p.m. HTT on July 20th, Mark Stroman will be put to death for his racially motivated killing of an Indian man in Mesquite, Texas.

He has a big fan base over at Prison Talk, where one of the deranged self-haters, Danielle Allen, proclaims that this sick murdering piece of shit is “the love of my life.”

Mark also has a blog.

Sadly, Mark’s family is all too familiar with tragedy. His sister was one of the victims who died in the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001. (Editor’s Note: sentence struck since Mark lied about having a sister and then lied about his ficticious sister dying on 9/11). Mark wanted to avenge his fictitious sister’s death, so he murdered two innocent Middle-eastern men (and wounded another) who worked at convenience stores in the Dallas area.

Here’s the Texas Attorney General’s Media Advisory with more details.

On October 4, 2001, Mark Stroman murdered Vasudev Patel, an Indian immigrant and gas station owner in Mesquite, TX. Patel was Stroman’s third and final victim. In the three weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks, Stroman also shot and killed Waqar Hasan (on September 15, 2001), a Pakistani immigrant in Dallas, and partially blinded a gas station attendant from Bangladesh in the erroneous belief all three men were Arabs.

In his own words:

I lost my sister in the world Trade Center. I remember sitting at home watching the nightmare on TV. And knowing she was on the top floors of the North Tower….. Let’s just say that I could not think clearly anymore and I am sorry to say I made innocent people pay for my rage, anger, grief and loss. I have destroyed my victim’s families as well as my own. Out of pure anger and stupidity I did some things to some men from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia – and now I sit on Death Row awaiting execution. And by no means am I proud of what I have done.

Well, at least he takes responsibility for his actions. But he still must pay for his crimes. And the penalty is death.

I understand his anger and his desire for revenge. Had it been one of my sisters or brothers, I would have wanted revenge, too. (Editor’s Note: sentence struck since Mark lied about having a sister and then lied about his ficticious sister dying on 9/11) And I would have sought it out in a different way. He could have joined the US Army and hoped to get to go fight and kill the disease that killed his sister (Islam). Instead he took the coward’s and idiot’s way to revenge — on people that were not in anyway guilty or responsible for his loss.

I’m guessing his meeting in hell with Osama Bin Laden is going to be a hoot.

SCOTUS Denies Appeal

On June 27, SCOTUS denied a Stroman appeal.

HOUSTON — A white supremacist set to die next month for killing an Indian man during a suburban Dallas shooting spree he blamed on anger over the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks has lost an appeal at the U.S. Supreme Court.

The high court refused Monday without comment to review the case of 41-year-old Mark Stroman. He’s set to die in Huntsville on July 20.

Stroman said he was angry at people of Middle Eastern descent. He was convicted of gunning down Vasudev Patel, an employee at a convenience store in Mesquite. Patel was one of three people shot in separate attacks by Stroman in the weeks after 9/11. Another person died, and a survivor identified Stroman as the gunman.

Stroman had at least two earlier prison terms when he was arrested.

Surviving Shooting Victim Fights for Stroman’s Life

Expect to hear much more in the coming days about Rais Bhuiyan, who was one of three men shot by Stroman. Bhuiyan, who survived after being shot in the face by Stroman, has been on a media tour fighting to save Stroman’s life:

Less than two weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks, Stroman entered Bhuiyan’s workplace and shot him. The crime was part of a shooting spree, targeting people who appeared to be Muslim or of Middle Eastern descent.

Bhuiyan, the sole survivor, required years of medical attention and several surgeries after the bullet struck the right side of his face.

Bhuiyan turned to his faith and found forgiveness. He created a website to educate people about hate crimes. He is working with Amnesty International and Stroman’s defense attorney to commute the death sentence to life without parole.

“According to my faith in Islam, there is no hate, no killing,” said Bhuiyan.

Mr. Bhuiyan has every right to disagree with the death penalty and to fight against it. However, he has no more moral authority on this case — or any other death row case — then you or I do. Mark Stroman is not being put to death for shooting Mr. Bhuiyan in the face. He’s being put to death for murdering Vasudev Patel and Waqar Hasan. Who do not have the luxury of forgiveness or of wishing to see Stroman’s life spared.

As to the “my faith is Islam, there is no hate, no killing…” thing? Well, that’s a load of horseshit; your entire religion was founded on and exists today on almost nothing but hate and killing. It’s pretty much the foundation of Islam 101.

Next on the Texas Execution Watch

21 days after Stroman checks into his new eternal home in hell, Martin Robles will join him for the November 2002 murder of two young Hispanic men in Nueces County, Texas.

  1. Good riddance to this sleaze.

    • i do not agree with what this man did by any means but who are we to pass judgement on anyone…what this man did was wrong in so many ways…he will be judged by God…to post ugky things make us as humans any better than he is…i know my opinion doesnt matter but i just wanted to voice my thought….my God Bless each & everyone of us on this site

      • who are we to pass judgement on anyone…

We are the people who don’t commit felonies, let alone murder. Hell yes, we have the right to pass judgement. Take your depraved moral equivalency bullshit elsewhere.

      • to post ugky things make us as humans any better than he is…

So, in your mind, calling him a sleaze is the same as murdering two people and attempting to murder a third… You’re a real sicko.

      • thats great how ppl don’t put there names….humm…intresting….like i said i’m sure my opinion doesn’t matter…pass judgement all u wish…i never stated in my reply what he did was or is okay…but u shouldn’t act as if u have never done anything ur ashamed of…his crime is one of the worst i have ever heard about & for him to make up a lie about a sister is very wrong…i agree but i have never or am one to pass judgement…on the 20th he will face God & only then will judgement be passed…i sorry u feel as if u do but i will keep u in my prayers….god bless u all

        • Piss off, fluffer!

        • I don’t put my name so assholes like you don’t harass me online and off. Thug lovers are known for that type of behavior.

      • You’re right — your opinion does not matter. You routinely block comments that disagree with your thug loving bullshit. You’ve managed to make AC nothing but pro-murderer and any articles supporting capital punishment are not accepted. You’re the typical thug lover and a dishonest murderer enabler hack.

      • i do not agree with what this man did by any means but who are we to pass judgement on anyone.

Numbers 35:33 ‘So you shall not pollute the land where you [are]; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.

Looks like God actually commands us to pass “judgement” or shall we say uphold the law. Imagine what the world would be like if we didn’t have any laws and we didn’t make any judgements. I don’t think you would feel safe nor would you enjoy living in that kind of world. You would be left at the mercy of those who were stronger or meaner than yourself.

      • You do understand the role of juries and judges in our court system, don’t you? It is to judge him for what he has done. And then to pass sentence on that judgement. He was judged to be guilty and he was sentenced to death in accordance with you laws. What part of that don’t you understand?

      • Who are we to decide or judge? We are the representatives of a society. And as such, we are regulated with the responsibility to render a verdict based upon the facts, as they pertain to the laws. Society creates laws to protect society as a whole. Anti-social persons, who willingly disregard those laws that society has created, usually find they will pay the penalty associated with their crime. In this case, a jury of his peers, common people delegated with the task , rendered their judgement.
A better question in my opinion is, why do you believe your views should outweigh those of a duly seated jury, who were doing their civic duty? Are you God, to second guess their verdict? You do realize, that jury was made up of common people, just like you or I. What they were shown in court, is at times restricted, due to keeping the trial fair for the accused. So taking what they saw in court during the trial phase, they came to a decision as a body, and that is exactly how our legal system is supposed to work. They were instructed as to the law, and took what was pr4sented, and appied the law.

You may not agree with the results that jury rendered, but you were not a member. Neither was I. We both must simply put our faith in the fact that reasonable people came to reasonable decision, and based upon the evidence shown found him guilty. It is not easy to make a decision that can take the life of another, so please do not discount the pain the members of that jurry had to endure, in the name of performing their duty. The taking of any human life is not something we take lightly. Appearently you don’t want this man to forfeit his life, if you were on that jury, and came to such a decision as they did, you know in your heart, that decision would be very difficult to render. However, as a member of society, your responsibility, would be to hold the man to the standards that the law dictates, not your own personal views. If not, you should recluse yourself from jury duty, because of your bias, because in the USA we do not take the law into our own hands, one way or the other. We depend upon a jury of our peers to render such judgements. Just like those that rendered a death sentence in this case. Your beliefs have nothing to do with it. Only the law of the land is of importance.
If you do not agree with the law as written, get the law repealed. But you are not granted the power to dictate over the statutes of law. That is for the legislator to do, not you as single person. This country uses the representatives of the majority to induct laws, not the opinion of a minority, and certainly not a singular voice.

      • First Dee “God” is fake; just something used in past to keep rule and power over uneducated people and now just idiots believe in that. So the courts and the public are the only REAL people to judge him as again god is bull butter! He admitted to killing the people lied about having a dead sister involved in (-11 then goes out and kills/wounds people who had nada to do with 9-11.

What next Dee, you love Casey Anthony now and think oh God will judge her… Yeah right! Come back to reality!

        • no i do not love casey anthony…a child lost a life…i can’t imagin that nor would i ever want to…

        • Oh, bullshit! You love and make excuses for and lie on the behalf of all murderers:

          Charles Dean Hood
          David Leonard Wood
          Greg Wright
          William Berkeley
          Cleve Foster
          etc.
          etc.
          etc.

        • I am agnostic about the existence of God, so it is irrelevant to me when people say it’s best to just let a murderer receive his or her punishment from God. It is our responsibility as a society to protect each other from injustice, and it is absolutely our responsibility as fellow citizens to see justice through for victims.

      • “he will be judged by God” The same god that protected the people he killed, or the 3,000 people in the World Trade Centers. Your beliefs are your right, but these decisions might be left in the hands of rational people who do not delegate societal responsibilities to a absent phantasmal father figure…

    • May he rot in Hell

    • State sanctioned murder solves nothing, there are still murderers out there. People will always kill people and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Many of you here call for the death of other people, ironically, for causing the death of someone… Yet we have no problem when our Government kills hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children in ‘our’ name. State sanctioned murder is therefore OK. And of course we won’t talk about the men that have been murdered by the state, later to be found innocent by DNA or other evidence. No, this man admitted what he did, but I was raised to believe two wrongs don’t make a right. Murder does not take away the pain, it is not the answer. In 100 years, people will look back on you that applaud the death of another human being and recognize you for what you are. Barbaric.

Anyway, I hope you find true peace in your sick twisted little lives. Maybe someday some of you can look beyond these issues and see the bigger picture.

      • And may you find rationality despite your pretzel logic world view.

        • How do you figure my logic is pretzel logic?

        • Because barbaric is the video posted of this maniac storming in this man’s business and shooting him like a dog…

Only sane people can recognize that…now go over to Camp Hug a Thug and wallow with the other excrement in crying over another thugs death…

        • Pretzel King, all murder is killing, not all killing is murder.
Go weep for murdering bastards like Stroman some place else.
Our state has executed him for his crime.

        • I am not disputing what this man did was wrong, you clearly missed what I wrote. Maybe you have a reading comprehension issue?

Nowhere in my post was I crying, I am making a point. If you are too stupid to understand that and have a civilized conversation with me on the points I made, I suggest you go straight to the doctor and get fixed. We certainly don’t need more ignorant fucktards like you in this world.

        • no2liberals, I notice you put executed in bold as if that fact will make me understand the man is dead.

          Anyway…

Are any of you capable of arguing the points I made or are all of you sitting in the same trailer jerking each other off?

        • It is you that has a comprehension problem, idiot.
You didn’t make any points, you just regurgitated the same nonsense all anti-DP types do.
          Fuck off.

        • He’s worm food, get over it…and fuck off shit stain.

        • Lol. You mad?

I mean, you must be mad because all you can come up with is witty (to you) one liners. Go read what I wrote, I clearly made several points. If you can’t talk about them, you obviously were the sperm that was shot in the wrong hole, then leaked out, and therefore you are retarded.

Typical FOX News watcher, that’s what you are. Shout out your points (feebly), don’t listen to anything anyone else has to say. Licking the boot, so to speak.

Your mother/father (aunt/uncle) must be so proud of your debating skills :)

        • Amarius is a black name. Amarius, are you black?

        • Bye-bye poofster.

        • Nope, and your blabber is such a broken record…that’s why the one line response…

        • no2liberals says:
          7/21/2011 at 10:43 am
Pretzel King, all murder is killing, not all killing is murder.

I love you. You make this site my number one favorite site on the internet right now.

      • There is nothing barbaric about it. Refusing to issue the ultimate punishment for the ultimate crime is nothing other than self-centered laziness which shows nothing but contempt for life.

I have yet to encounter any death penalty dissenter who doesn’t at the same time support abortion.

      • I’ll have a go… First, war is ALWAYS ugly & innocent lives will always be lost. It is brutal & there will ALWAYS be certain people who will use war as an excuse to do terrible things that are more than exessive. That being said I, personally, believe that the good of the many outways the good of the one.

There are people who stand up & protest war just as there are people who stand up & protest capital punishment. To each their own. What I take offense to are those who try to make it sound like each & every person on death row has changed, seen the light, found God, or whatever other term they are using at the time.

If you don’t believe in capital punishment because of your morals, religion or any other reason, then more power to you. Lobby, petition, change the laws; just don’t try to make it sound like these people are any more important than their victims. (I know that you have not done this in your post, so please don’t think I am trying to infer that you did.)

Sometimes there are people that are truly evil & no amount of therapy will ever correct that. So say you lock them away for life. They can still harm others, ie inmates. So, you put them in Ad Seg & they attack the CO’s. Sometimes, just like dangerous animals, they need to be put down.

        • Which is why they moved death row from the Ellis Unit to Polunsky, because a bunch of murderers got together to plan escape…they have nothing to lose…as with those with LWOP…

The retard blathering the broken record above is probably some Hug a Thug supporter…hiding behind a the thin veil of “oh I just have a different opinion and blah blah blah..” It’s easy to read them out between the lines…so boring.

Probably just taking time out here before he/she sits down to write the thug they so lovingly admire…

        • Amarius, just the *poof* boy.
He is the type of troll that gets angry when he is ignored, so he pulls out another personality from his nutjob storage bin so he can get some attention, even if it is negative.

        • Ah yes…he must have upped his meds…lol..

        • If he upped them, it still isn’t helping.

  2. Please don’t spread his lie about his imaginary sister. He had no relative that was killed in the WTC. He made it up to justify murdering people.

    • Clearly a bullshit claim, which could have easily been verified, but to this date it has not been.
Not that it would have made any difference.

      • As you can see in the USDC findings I linked to farther down, the sister story was made up later. His attys statement was that they could never verify it. He’s also never been able to come up with a name. He later changed it to his step sister and then backed away from it but never admitting that he lied. I see that the reprieve whackos have resurrected the lie big time. All their statements of facts and procedural histories on capital cases are nothing but lies.

  3. He could have joined the US Army …

I hope not. He had a long criminal record, was a member of Aryan Brotherhood, and had been released on parole for robbery only a few weeks before 9/11.

    • Right, because murdering innocent people for the military is so much different than what this guy did.

      • I imagine this shit stain’s comment will be poofed…

But fuck off anyway shit stain…

      • Your lack of distinction between murder and killing is absurd.
        Fuck off.

      • If some person breaks into your home, attacks you & your family & means to kill you all & you simply beat him to it; does that make you just as bad & vile as him? Personally, I don’t think so. You would be defending your own life & the lives of your loved ones.

Same goes for the military. They are risking their lives to preserve your way of life. If we all just rolled over, all the time, we would all be a goose-stepping, book burning Jewsih-less world. Even though it would be nice if the entire world held themselves to a “higher standard” some people NEVER will. We can’t always play by the rules when the other side has NO rules.

        • Amen to that…anyone that bashes our military gets no respectable response from me.

Patriotic decent is a luxury afforded to those by better men than they….period.

        • +1, Jenni.

  4. We here in Dallas were still trying to wrap our heads around the events of 9-11 and what was going to happen next, then this asshole Stroman started his murder spree and made more people anxious about going out at night and especially making a quick run to the convenience store.
The murder he is being executed for happened only blocks away from a good friend’s home. I had stopped at that store numerous times for gas and coffee or a coke. People in that area, including my friend, were afraid to let their children go outside and their fears became their children’s fears. We all watched the horrific store videos of him shooting his victim. I don’t know where he got such an expensive handgun, probably stolen, but a long barreled stainless .44magnum was used.
Here are some high lights of the low life from a local news source:

Stroman had previous convictions for burglary, robbery, theft and credit card abuse and served at least two earlier prison terms, one for two years and another for eight. He was paroled twice, prison records show. He had a juvenile record that included an armed robbery at the age of 12.

As the punishment phase of his 2002 murder trial was about to begin, Stroman turned to Hasan’s relatives in the courtroom and directed an obscene hand gesture at them, The Dallas Morning News reported then.
    ————-
Stroman confessed to the shooting spree, and police said the .44-caliber handgun recovered during his arrest was used to kill Patel. Prosecutors said Stroman also told another jail inmate about the shootings and how automatic weapons found by police in his car were intended for a planned attack at a Dallas-area shopping mall.

Had the Mesquite PD not gotten this POS off of the streets when they did, there is no telling how many more innocent people would have been murdered.

As for Mr. Bhuiyan and his bizarre forgiveness tour, I also call bullshit on his islam is the religion of peace lie. In islam there is nothing more egregious than an infidel harming or killing a muslim. All I needed to know in order to understand his motives in trying to stop the execution is that Amnesty International was supporting him. Mr. Bhuiyan is indeed practicing a foundational principle of islam, al-taqiyya.

I can assure you, Dr. McCoy will be in attendance come Wednesday evening.

    • He stole the pistol from where he was staying: http://goo.gl/cF48y

These anti groups wine and dine these people and give them all expense paid vacations to Europe and around the country. They also get paid to do this.

    • I didn’t live in Dallas at the time these murders occurred, but I can only imagine the terror that blanketed the city and all the surrounding suburbs in response to these vile attacks. It is disgusting that he used the tragedy of 9/11 to justify his hate-fueled, racist murdering spree.

      • Good to see your nic, Tracy. It has been awhile.

        • :)

Yes, it has been a while since I’ve stopped by this site! I have been a bit busy and distracted by several things for some time now and haven’t gotten to read blogs much (if at all) for the past several months. Earlier, I was (literally) stuck somewhere without any work with me that I could to do but had access to a computer with Internet service, so I thought I’d wander over and check things out over here.

          Hope you’ve been well.

        • Hi Tracy :-) , good to see you back!

        • Yes ma’am, I do good, thanks for asking, and hope you are as well.
Unless I am mistaken, you are doing your residency, and if that is correct it is quite understandable that you haven’t had much spare time.

    • So, do Stroman’s actions constitute terrorism?

  5. Now comes the latest–Bhuiyan has now filed a suit seeking to stop the execution on the premise that he didn’t get to participate in the “victim impact” portion of Stroman’s trial.

It’s quite common for the damned to try to delay sentencing as long as possible, not to mention countless legal “interventions” by groups (even where the damned wants to move on and die for his crimes). And I’m not even counting those over on PrisonTrash. Those cases piss me off as much as most of us here on this board.

And yes, I’ve heard many families not wish the death penalty to be sought or carried out. Usually, though, if the family objects the death penalty is generally not sought for that specific crime.

But I really can’t recall a victim filing suit to have his attacker not face justice (though the justice does not involve him but the two dead victims). Can anyone else recall such a case?

  6. I wonder if Danielle will be so kind as to remove Stroman’s rotting carcass after his execution. (Actually stupid is a more appropriate word, but if she buries him, we the taxpayers don’t have to pay for it, so we’ll take all the acts of “kindness” we can get to save $$$.)

    • Yeah, but then we get all those awful photos posted on the internet of them slobbering over the corpse at the funeral home.

      • At least I can avoid that segment of the Internet. And someone else is paying for it, not me and you. We can’t avoid paying for his rotting carcass to be buried unless his “lover” Dani decides to help.

  7. This guy has been bad news his entire life: http://goo.gl/wZS5C

    • Holy shit! This guy was fucked up! And begging for death row…

One thing I’m sick of is…”Aww, the perps family was mean to him…blah blah blah..I know people that have hard childhoods, mine included, that grew up to work hard, love their families, and break the chain. Antis always seem to bring that shit up…his childhood was horrible…BS…he made choices..and has to face the consequences…

      • I totally agree with you on this. I think a hard childhood cannot justify a reason for killing someone. You would think that as you became older, you would want to improve your life and make a good situation out a bad situation. I know if I had a hard childhood growing up, I would want to treat people with the love and respect that I didn’t get as a child. You would want to make yourself a better person. I really think people are born evil. They do not have the mindset to think rationally. Even though I think this, I still believe they should be punished and face what they have coming to them. Rather it be death or life. This is no excuse to kill and hurt.

  8. Check out his groupies: http://goo.gl/v425I

    • That link goes to the Wichita Falls Examiner. I don’t see any pics.

      • It’s the comments on the bottom…some stupid chick talking about torture before death for these murderers…like a needle is more painful than the vicious crimes they committed…what a joke.

        • Really?
My page view doesn’t show any comments.
          /hmmm

        • They are facebook comments, and not wanting to bore you with the groupies broken record comment, the response by one Texas woman was:

Explain to me why I am supposed to care, in the slightest, that he may suffer when he dies? Ask yourself if HE took into account how much pain he was leveling on those he shot & savagely murdered… Perhaps on your next trip to Camp Hug-A-Thug you could take the time to talk to some of the family & loved ones of the VICTIMS. Because I have.

You want to personally attack me because I happen to now be housewife & happen to live in Texas. I assume that means that you think that I am uneducated & have no knowledge of anything beyond my county lines. Grow up. I am willing to bet I have more education than you & have seem more of the world than you could ever hope to.

Besides, this particular inmate admitted he murdered these men… There is ZERO question of his guilt. (…and the UK system is just working oh, so well, right???)

          Hug a Thug….gotta love it :-)

        • I don’t have facebook but I can still see the comments. The housewife in Texas is right about being more educated and intelligent than the middle aged broad from the UK trolling death row for love.

        • I use the “no-script” add on and it was blocking the comments, I gave it permission and saw them.
That term “hug a thug” is great.

        • Camp Hug-a-Thug? HA!

        • Wow… That’s actually my post that y’all are quoting… 8-)

Thanks for the support. This guy is slime and desrves what he gets…

        • Yes, Jenni, loved that comment, as one Texas woman to another, great minds think alike :-)

  9. This thug is the flavor of the month. He is a racist POS with no redeeming value. He KILLED two precious human beings because he robbed them. The only ppl that are upset about this are 450LB thong wearing nappy-headed bad hygene ho’s at PTO.

I do however, feel sorry that a chicken will likely be sacrificed for his last meal.

    • SAVE THE CHICKENS!!!

I saw on the news this morning, that Perry was aware of the request of the victim Stroman left alive and was waiting for court to decide before he makes his decision…

I doubt if Perry will give a stay, or what do you think? Imagine what the world would say if he let a violent white KKK fan live right after allowing the death of a murdering so called mexican thug, causing so much havoc among the thug lovers…my gut says the Nazi is going down…

      • Whack this POS soonest.

        • Hey Ryzzia!

Just come out and say what’s on your mind! Don’t leave us guessing!:-P

And by the way you make those pto hos sound reeeeeal foxy!!!!!LOL

      • What point would there be to Perry giving a one time 30 day stay? There has to be a legitimate reason. The guy’s suit has a snowball chance in hell of prevailing.

Also, Bhuilyan never complained until recently. It’s too late. He tries to get around it be stating that he was not informed of his rights as a victim until recently. However, as already noted, Stroman is not being executed because of Bhuilyan but b/c he murdered Patel. I also find it fishy that Bhuilyan keeps saying at least one other family agrees with him. If so, they have kept quiet about it.

        • It does seem fishy..and waiting until the last minute when he’s been on DR for a decade??? I thought that fishy too… Not wanting to be too harsh on the victim but it seems like an attention getter to me…and the Islam references on peace and love are laughable…

        • This clowns views are meaningless. The death penalty was for murder, and this guy wasn’t killed. He was maimed (not a capitol offense).. He is not the victim in the case that condemned the man, those that died are the only victims with standing, and they can not be heard. He case is separate, and not a capital offense. He has no standing in regards to the execution of the condemned

      • Perry won’t do anything. If the court stays the execution he’s off the hook. If not (most likely, when it denies the appeal) he won’t grant a stay.

We’re under 2 1/2 days to go before one more spot on death row is cleared out.

(Wonder if “Dani” has made arrangements with her local funeral home yet?)

        • I am thinking he will be at the Joe Byrd Cemetery where they bury inmates. He will not even have a name, just a number.

As regards the PTO hos, I guess they could indeed be some thug inmates dearest fantasy, even if they tip the scales at 500LBS in a soaking wet thong….

  10. This guy has a snowballs chance in hell of missing his date with the needle. Making up that story about his sister in the twin towers to try and save his ass shows what a coward he really is. Nasty piece of crap should have rusty needle inserted to make sure he suffers like his victims and their families did..

  11. I knew Mark Personally he really wasn’t that bad of a guy untill he got on Drugs..He actually came from a wealthy family his grandfather would do anything for him I never understood his or deal behind this

    • Uh, he began stealing when he was 9 years old and committed his first aggravated robbery when he was only 12. He’s been nothing but a thief and a violent thug his entire life.

    • Yea, I was going to say…what? You knew him when he was 4? sheesh…

  12. A musical interlude with a message for Stroman.

  13. Robbie, head’s up; a number of websites permits logging in to post comments by a service called Disqus. It seems Disqus is blocking conservative responses to articles that doesn’t agree with Obama. A number of conservatives, and pro-Perry responses just went into the netherland including mine over at RealClearPolitics. That caused me to be blocked from a number of other conservative sites.

The only thing I can find out about Disqus is that it is located in San Francisco, was started by two Asians. It is used as a service to a number of websites for response purposes.

That triggered my memory on how FaceBook announced last month that it would no longer allow (TEA Partiers) to use its site for “poltical” purposes. Now, I’m not a grassy knoll kinda person, but doesn’t this all seem a bit odd to you? Back that up with Drudge’s report that the DoD would not monitor the “internet” although it wasn’t stated for what purpose.

    • I didn’t know facebook had done that.
I only liked it for keeping up with a few favorite cousins.

      *
      You Ok, Robbie ?
You haven’t posted in 4 days unless I missed a comment among these on your July 16th post.
      .
      Hope all is well.

        • The moment I can get most/all of my family over to Google+, I’m dumping my Facebook account completely.

        • I got an invite from warchick for google+, but haven’t checked it out. I have some problems with google, too.

        • I pretty much abandoned Facebook a long time ago, but I haven’t deleted my account because I keep thinking perhaps one day I might use it or need to get in contact with someone with whom I’m connected on Facebook. Facebook’s discriminatory actions make me want to delete the account altogether though (especially since they are not equally discriminating against all political groups).

I have never checked out Google+, so I don’t fully realize what it offers (and almost don’t care since I don’t have time for it right now anyway!). But perhaps I do need to carve out some time to get up to speed on this . . .

  14. Not exactly a surprise, but he filed a writ today: http://goo.gl/aob4S

  15. [EDITED because I'm a day off --- the execution is tomorrow, not today. Texas executions are usually on Tues or Thurs, so I was thrown off.] My wife and I have adoption/foster parent class tonight until 9:30, so I won’t be able to update this post until I get home after 10:00 tonight.

Any word yet on his final meal?

    • I should be home on or about the time Dr. Bones’ pronouncement should be issued.

    • The hell with the update — congratulations!

    • Wow! You and Mrs Cooper are looking to Adopt/Foster! That’s just fantastic Robbie, I hope it goes brilliantly for you both. Bless you!

      • Thank you. We’re in the early stages of taking classes to become approved to become foster parents (with a hope of adopting, eventually).

        • All the best Robbie, it takes a special kind of person(s) to be a foster parent or adopt a child(ren). If you treat any child that you welcome into your home half as well as you treat your dogs then those will be bloody lucky kids LOL! Good luck.

    • Hi there… I know we don’t know each other but I think what you & your wife are doing in wonderful. If it weren’t for people like you & your wife I would not have ended up in the loving family I have today.

      Thanks again, from an adoptee!

    • Congratulations, and thank you from a former foster (and current adopted) child for taking on this responsibility! Best wishes to you on your adventure, and may you, your wife, and future foster child(ren) and possible adopted child(ren) be blessed beyond your wildest imaginings!

  16. Where his victims “Human Beings” when he killed and maimed them? NO! In his mind these were just sub-human targets for him to kill! He didn’t care one bit about the pain, anguish and devastation he was about to
cause these victims and their families!

In fact, he wanted to cause them pain and anguish! “This was not a crime of hate but an act of Passion and
Patriotism, an act of country and commitment, an act of retribution and recompense…!” What a load of crap! I’m enraged this bastard is actually trying to hide behind the American flag after he went on a killing spree, targeting People of Color!

If he was so “Patriotic” why didn’t he go down to the recruiting center and enlist in the military and bear arms for the country overseas? He’s a coward! He’s scared shitless now that the needle is flying at him!

He’s a one-man lynch mob who got caught and is being made to pay for his atrocities! He’s lamenting the fact that he’s in the most ruthless, unmerciful, unforgiving place in the entire United States!

Do we hear him speaking out against the Aryan Nation and the other racist White Supremacist gangs and their vitriol? NO!

Did he petition to have his racist tattoos erased from his body? NO!

Do we hear him saying racial hatred is unjustifiably wrong and cannot be allowed to spread? No!

What’s happening now is he’s losing lots of sleep because of his uncontrollable diarrhea as his bowels are loosing themselves in uncontrollable spasms as his “Date with Fate” draws near!

Every night he’s asking the prison guards “Can I have another blanket, please? I’m cold!” because of the shivers and chill chill of death as his execution draws near!

I don’t believe his “remorse” for one second! He’s doing everything he can to dodge the needle and get away with his atrocities! Well, that’s not gonna happen, Mr. Mark Anthony Stroman!

On Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 6:00PM, your body’s decomposition process will begin!

Now shut the F**k up and take your medicine like a man!

    • I’m enraged this bastard is actually trying to hide behind the American flag after he went on a killing spree, targeting People of Color!

Amen. Hiding behind the American flag while professing mock patriotism and faking the heartache that too many other people were truly suffering make his actions even more despicable and stomach churning.

  17. It looks like the Daily Mail disabled comments because they were getting too many pro capital punishment ones: http://goo.gl/vKIyH

  18. But Bhuyian’s advocacy efforts have been rejected. Stroman is scheduled to be put to death Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Huntsville.

    Courtesy of Yahoo news…

    • None of Stroman’s attys ever believed it would work. Hell, I don’t think they were even behind it.

It was just part of another ReprieveUK publicity and fund drive and Bhuilyan got a free vacation to europe and money for his appearances.

  19. I am not a fan of the death penalty but as it’s the law in Texas I can’t see any reason why this man should live when others will die.

    • Well, in disagreeing with the Death Penalty myself, if he dies, then others will continue to die too. As long as we continue to perpetuate the archaic form of punishment called the Death Penalty, then our ability to deliver Justice by Law and Reason will be stained by another mans blood.

      • As long as there are bastards out there that have no regard for life and murder as they please, the death penalty will be a punishment somewhere. And LWOP is just letting the violent thug know he has nothing to lose therefore murdering in prison is no big deal….aka…Troy Kell…

        • That’s correct Amarius.

anon above is a weenie little puss who doesn’t have an informed, educated opinion. Of course he is entitled to it, same as we are entitled to keep sentencing these shit stains on society to death.

“As long as we continue to perpetuate the archaic form of punishment called the Death Penalty”

Bwaahahahahahah fucking ha!! I love how the antis try to sound so intellectual. Their lofty opinions of us here stupid rednecks crack me up every time. Thank the Lord that there are enough like minded good citizens of this great state to keep our laws, which reflect the majorities view, on the books!!

Rot in hell you waste of human flesh, thou shalt not murder, but you did, now you pay your debt to society with your life.

          GOD BLESS TEXAS!!

        • Amen to that! God Bless Texas!!!!

      • if he dies, then others will continue to die too.

By others you mean cold blooded killers… GOOD!

  20. this writer of this article is as ignorant and racist as MARK STORMAN. the last paragraph of this article speaks it.i quote :” As to the “my faith is Islam, there is no hate, no killing…” thing? Well, that’s a load of horseshit; your entire religion was founded on and exists today on almost nothing but hate and killing. It’s pretty much the foundation of Islam 101.”

You don’t know ab out certain religion and you open your mouth and spread so much ignorance ???? it’s a shame !!! Shame on you!!!
What an idiot you are. You talk about the entire religon of islam when you don’t know the basic fundamentals of this religion.

When the guy from Bangladesh (Rais) pardons this man what do you think what made him do that???? Did he get the money from somewhere or what? NO. No one made him to take such a step but his faith. Cause yes in Islam you are given the choice , the family or in this case the person who survived is given the right to forgive and pardon or to ask for revenge (life for life , eye for an eye …..) however, if you choose to forgive and pardon and show mercy then you will be rewarded for that in the hereafter. And yes muslims do beleive in the judgement day and the hereafter.
Who says the family of the two other victims did not forgive him? They did forgive him as well.

What storman did was out of pure ignorance. He is sorry and very remorsefull……and when all the families pardoned him…who are we to say that he deserves to DIE???? the only cure for these type of ignorance is Education….. we need to educated people on religions and that the act of some evil ones does not represent the Religion and so therefore the Religion Islam should not be judged by the actions of the ignorant and haters ….it would only be fair to judge a religion by its scriptures and in this case the QURAN. same is with any religon ….the christianity , hinduism and Judaism…. one should read the scripture and then point finger and judge….and not just by the act of individuals of these religions….

Should we judge the christianity for killing thousands of innocent Iraqi children when the US and European countries ( all christian nations) put sanctions on medications???? Was it humane???? Did sadam care? who is responsible for the deaths of those innocent children???? it breaks my heart and I can go on with the list …..

Ignorance is man’s worst enemy. Educate yourself and live in peace….the truth is out there …its sad that the media is so biased….most of the channels is controlled by same corporations….it is a nasty business …they want us to beleive what they want us to beleive in.

    Wake up world!!!!

    • Did he get the money from somewhere or what? NO.

Uh…YES! Bhuilyan is being paid by ReprieveUK. He is getting free trips to the UK and europe and a stipend. He’s not paying to file this lawsuit and he is asking for cash damages.

    • Who says the family of the two other victims did not forgive him? They did forgive him as well.

I would not be so sure about that.

“His wife (Patel) told the Dallas County district attorney’s office that no one had permission to speak on her behalf. She was not made available for media questions as the execution date neared. ”

      http://www.dallasnews.com/news/community-news/mesquite/headlines/20110720-dallas-man-condemned-to-die-tonight-for-post-911-rampage-seeks-stay-of-execution.ece

He is sorry and very remorsefull (sic)

I beg to differ. He has lied about his motives for years. He is a white supremacist who took advantage of 9/11 to try to excuse his crimes.

      • A CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Channel) aired a report. From the begining to the end . It did have the victim’s families interviews too. It was heartbreaking. In the begining Mark Storman did not seem to be sorry and feel guilty he rather was proud of his actions. The families do forgive him saying that his death will not bring their husband’s back. You need to have a big heart to forgive such a person.
And the families support Rais’s campaign to stop his execution.

I am not talking from my own. Again it did show on the news that he is remorseful and seeks forgiveness from families and he admits what he did was wrong.

I totally agree with you that he as white supremacist took advantage of 9/11but people do change .dont they? He should be given a chance. I mean if the families were not ready to forgive him I would never say that yeah he deserves a chance, but since the victim’s families do and only they know how painful it is to lose a loved one ,hen who are we to say NO?
that is just my opinion , watching any human being dying is just painful.

To the hater who can not talk decent , i must say that i know what i am talking about. Yes the Qisas and Diya exists in islam and that is the whole point here. Qisas is if the family wants a revenge and get the person killed. Diya is money for blood or ransome or you just totally forgive without asking for either Qisas or Diya. It is the right of the victim’s family. huh, but your ignorance has not only put a blanket on your brain and heart but it has also made you a hater. You need to educate yourself , have you read the Muslim’s holy book Quran? If you have not then what and who in the world gives you the right to accuse a religion blindly???
To you my advice is MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT END UP like MARK STORMAN because of all the hatred you carry in your heart.
I do not wish to exchange further messages with haters.

        Peace!

        • The families do forgive him saying that his death will not bring their husband’s back. You need to have a big heart to forgive such a person. And the families support Rais’s campaign to stop his execution.

Once again, dumbass: Stroman was only tried and convicted for the murder of Mr. Patel. His widow has stated that no one who claims that she supports Bhuilyan or wishes to stop the execution speaks on her behalf. That Bhuilyan and/or the Reprieve assholes or you claim that she does, is bullshit.

        • How many gazillion times have we heard about how imperative it is to maintain the wall between church and state? This seems to be subject to cancellation without notice when the subject of capital punishment comes up. Then it’s Piety Plus.

Usually, it’s something like, “What would Jesus do?” Now, it seems, it’s “What would Mohammed do?”

Answer: In a secular country applying secular and democratically adopted law, it doesn’t make a particle of difference.

Religion informs law, and many people think this is a good thing. But it does not dictate law, not in this country.

          ~~ Bill Otis

          http://goo.gl/152sm

        • * Stroman was only convicted of the robbery and murder of Vadusev Patel.

          * Patel was not a muslim.

          * Patel’s widow “specifically informed the state she wishes to express no opinion regarding Stroman’s impending execution.”

So, take your crappy sharia law and CBC and shove them up your ass.

        • To you my advice is MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT END UP like MARK STORMAN because of all the hatred you carry in your heart.

My advice to you is go piss up a rope, you sanctimonious phony.
I have read a great deal of the unholy koran and its Satanic Verses. The only forgiveness in it is exclusively muslim on muslim and there is no redemption or salvation.
There aren’t many things in this world that I truly hate and islam is high up on that list. For most individual muslims I don’t hate them, I pity them and hope they can see the light and flee the dark path they are on.
Mark Stroman is a murderous bastard, another thing I hate and oppose. We have nothing in common.

        • Fuck yo and fuck islam. Our law says if you murder you can be sentenced to death. He was found gulty by a jury of citizens of this great state and now he owes a debt to society. I don’t give two shits if the victim’s family are anti dp or not. This fuck stain needs to be exterminated.

And BTW, if you are really going to argue about islam being the religion of peace good luck with that one. We have seen what the rag heads have done and continue to do.

Fuck islam, fuck mohammed, fuck you.

          GOD BLESS TEXAS!!

        • Hey man, don’t go dissing CBC…You’re breaking my little Canadian heart! LOL. Just kidding!

    • You actually go by the nic “Facts?”
What a fucking joke you are. Clearly you know nothing about islam, not even a basic primer.
Islam doesn’t forgive, it allows for Qisas or Diyya. In islam there is nothing more egregious than an infidel murdering a muslim.
Islam is evil, and it continues to lie to those poor souls that follow it.
Screw Bhuiyan, he is profiting from his misfortune. Stroman’s execution has absolutely nothing to do with him, it has to do with the violation of our laws and the murder of Patel.
You need to wake your stupid ass up first, before you exhort others to do so.

  21. Mistakes are expensive, is now regretted his actions but is a little late for that

  22. I used to be against Capital Punishment! I was a staunch opponent of it. The problem came when I was actually confronted by one of those murderous, sociopaths/psychopaths and saw they had absolutely no regard for anything except themselves. They really do see themselves as predators and we are just their prey! They believe they are strong and our empathy, compassion and sensitivity is our weakness!

These monsters are in human form but they don’t act like humans. They don’t have the redeeming qualities that makes us all human beings. These monsters will continue to kill and predate upon us if we don’t stop them.

When they are in prison, they go on killing there as well! Just because you might be in prison, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have human rights and protection! You have the right not to be injured or killed while incarcerated! You have the right not to suffer sexual assault.

I realized Capital Punishment was society’s way of practicing Self-Defense! We don’t want to do it, but we have to do it in order to be absolutely certain these monstrous individuals won’t ever harm another human being again! Capital Punishment actually saves lives!

Imagine what would have happened if Hitler had been killed? How many lives would his death have saved?

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was taken down hard for killing innocent people! His death saved lives!

Osama Bin Laden was killed by an act of self defense by our nation! We all know Osama Bin Laden would never stop killing Americans! In fact, he was actively engaged in the planning and facilitating the murders of more Americans! He would never have stopped! He would have gone on killing Europeans, Asians…He would have continued killing until the entire world was speaking Arabic and practising Islam! Holding him in prison would actually have been more dangerous.

Capital Punishment will never stop murder because there will always be murderers! The purpose of Capital Punishment is exactly what it says …PUNISHMENT!

Execution is society’s proclamation to those who would commit heinous and atrocious murders… “You do so at your own risk! If you violate an innocent’s right to live by heinously and unlawfully killing them…then you forfeit your own life!”

We cannot bring back the life they took. But we can make certain they will never do so again! No one feels good executing a person. But we all feel safer knowing we won’t ever have to worry about that person killing another human being again!

We as a society execute for certainty! We execute for assurance that our lives will be forever safe from that specific individual who would kill again had they the opportunity! That is all we can hope for. Execution is that final, certain resolution!

  23. As the hour of Mark Stroman’s execution approach, a man who says he was also a juror on the Stroman case took the time to write me about my blog post yesterday. I agreed not to name him. He was a little shaken, he says, when members of a group called Reprieve, out of the UK, showed up one day at his home to talk with him. But he wanted to make a few points:

During the guilt/Innocence phase deliberations everyone was in quick agreement. There was very little discussion if it was a “capital crime” or not. It was very clear to us that he was robbing the store. I don’t remember how long we were out but it was not very long. No one was aggressive as Jenifer claims.

During the penalty phase there was again very little discussion. We were asked to answer two questions:
    a. Was Mark a continued threat to society.
    b. Was there any reason to grant him leniency.
If you answer yes to the first question and no to the second, then he would receive the death penalty. There was very little discussion around the first question and only a little around the second. … I only really remember one instance of aggression, which was directed at me. I told the lady to calm down and sit down, which she did. I left the jury room feeling confident that everyone agreed with our decision.

Frankly I’m not sure why I’m writing you; my head is telling me to just let it go, but I’m really upset with the point of view she has created of the Jury. It all went very smoothly, and frankly there were no bullies (unless of course I was one and didn’t realize it, which I highly doubt).

If she had doubts during the trial, she should have stood up and said something. A man’s life was at stake. Toward the end, we all voted and I was toward the end of the polling. Everyone was voting the death penalty. I stood up and said we need to talk about this longer. I didn’t think leniency was in order, but I wanted to make sure no one felt pressured. So we stopped and talked some more. I might have prolonged the discussion about 10 minutes, but no one stood up and said there was reason to spare his life. This was her chance; saying something 9 years later the day before his execution is too late and just showmanship for Reprieve and other anti-death penalty groups.

    http://goo.gl/fsRFv

    • I wonder just how much those Reprieve assholes offered Ms. Sheehan.

BTW, I have just been informed that “Bones” will not be able to make the pronouncement at the designated time. He requests that others in attendance keep the tradition alive.

  24. Tic-toc-tic-toc.

10 minutes till 6:00 pm HTT. Which means that, if there was going to be a stay, it would have likely already happened, and I haven’t heard anything yet.

Right about now, they are probably walking him from the his room next to the death chamber, and are strapping him to a gurney. I hope he’s scared shitless.

    • Three past six now. The process should already be starting.

Paul from Poland–Usually the death is not confirmed until around 6:30 FYI. But there’s not much time that lapses, since our Governors usually don’t grant stays and by now all court appeals have passed.

  25. died right now

  26. 6:12 p.m.

Which means if he’s not dead yet, the number of breaths he has left in his lungs can be counted on one hand.

  27. It has been Delayed pending the lawsuit against Perry. Word is they are back to the 5th. Rais was ordered back to court and they are hoping for a stay now

  28. Sorry i just copied it from pto what i was reading there cause they are usually the fastest

    • PTO is a piece of garbage, don’t rely on them.

Here’s the latest I’ve found, 5th Circuit said no to Rais’ appeal. Texas Tribune is liberal but not necessarily inaccurate.

      http://www.texastribune.org/texas-dept-criminal-justice/death-penalty/update-court-declines-stay-for-9-11-revenge-killer/

      • Sorry I failed to notice the Texas Tribune piece was already posted. I forget Robbie is really, really good (even while multitasking).

Most likely USSC will not intervene; we may be delayed about 1-2 hours but I believe Stroman will dine with bin Laden before nightfall.

        • No, you were right for posting it. Earlier it just reported that the USDC had denied Bhuilyan’s lawsuit. They then went to the 5th Circuit an the Texas Trib was updated to reflect it.

      • I can’t even correct myself without Robbie updating things! Darn he’s good! How does he take parenting classes and update this blog, all at the same time?

        • No foster parent classes tonight. We have a break until Saturday (when we get to learn how to give meds! yippee — as a former combat medic and EMT I can probably teach the class)

        • Combat medic + EMT = forgot more than I will ever know.

      • I really dont understand the USA courts when I’m honest. In Holland court closes at 6

        • Whenever a death penalty sentence is close to being carried out, there is someone that each court designates to consider last minute appeals. At the USSC each justice handles a specific appellate court for this purpose.

It can get frustrating near the end of things, but in the (unlikely) event something has been overlooked, it is good to have safeguards in place.

        • So that means there is always a judge to rule about a case?

        • Whenever the death penalty is involved, yes, unless a court has stated that it will hear no further appeals on a matter.

  29. Builyan is a real asshole. He’s really full of shit. His lawsuit is full of lies and he is being used for publicity.

  30. Hate feeds hate, violence feeds violence and fear feeds fear.
Love and forgiveness feeds love and forgiveness.

I’m happy that there, for every day, are fewer countries in the world that use these old 14:th century punishments, instead of moving to a more modern way of thinking.

USA is fifth in the world when it comes to capital punishment and the crowd around isn’t the nicest gang to hang out with (Wikipedia)

1 People’s Republic of China may be up to 5000
    2 Iran Iran 252+
3 North Korea North Korea 60+
    4 Yemen Yemen 53+
5 United States United States 46
6 Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia 27+
    7 Libya Libya 18+
    8 Syria Syria 17+

    • And lack of punishment for crimes = more crimes. Sorry that how we do things here in Texas doesn’t appeal to your Swedish way of life. Now get out of the way and go back to providing the Dallas Stars more good hockey players, thank you, and leave us to what we do best — making sure criminals can no longer kill innocent people.

      • Six of the top ten countries for recorded intentional homicides have the death penalty. They are India, Indonesia, the United States, Thailand, Mexico and Russia. Mexico retains the death penalty only for exceptional crimes such as military crimes. Russia is considered abolitionist in practice. (http://web.amnesty.org/pages/deathpenalty-countries-eng)
Ukraine and South Africa are the most recent countries in the top ten to abolish the death penalty. South Africa abolished the death penalty for all crimes in 1997, and Ukraine in 1999.
Only two of the bottom 10 countries on this list – Dominica and Qatar – have the death penalty. In the year 2000, Dominica had two murders and Qatar had one.
In the world, there are 78 countries that practice the death penalty, 83 that do not have the death penalty for any crime, 13 that have abolished the death penalty for ordinary crimes, and 22 that have the death penalty but have not executed anybody for at least 10 years.

        • We can’t keep all the killers from killing, but those we execute won’t do it again. That’s what matters to me and to the majority of us here at UrbanGrounds.

You want to abolish the death penalty? Head over to PrisonTalk and speak with the inmate lovers there.

        • AKA Camp Hug A Thug…gag..

  31. “As the drugs began to flow, Stroman looked at his witnesses and said: I may be going to hell but it sure beats Sweden!” Death was pronounced at 6:12 pm.”

  32. Robbie–Can’t find any updates on my end. What do you have?

And BTW we’re infested with a Swedish inmate-loving troll.

    • Ditto. Can’t find anything at all. I would have thought that Michael Graczyk would have updated one of his stories with news of the delay. Unless of course, all media and the families are still sequestered inside of the death house, and he doesn’t have the ability to file updates from within the death house (no electronic devices or ability to make updates).

      • After the 5th Circuit COA denied Bhuiyan, the only place would be to the USSC – I think. Though I wonder if they may try to file again in state court. I tried listening to that execution watch radio but they had nothing.

        • Hey, I was right! They went back to state court: http://goo.gl/wGcDC

        • A federal district judge in Austin rejected the suit and Bhuiyan’s request for an injunction on Wednesday afternoon. His lawyers appealed the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court, where Justice Antonin Scalia turned it down, but another late appeal on Bhuiyan’s behalf was before a state court Wednesday evening in Austin.

          ….

          ….

State attorneys opposed all the appeals, contending Stroman was “misrepresenting the actual facts.”

In Bhuiyan’s lawsuit, they said he previously signed a document indicating he had no wish for any contact with Stroman. As a victim, he also received notification four months ago about the scheduled execution but waited “until Stroman’s execution was imminent” before becoming involved, Erich Dryden, an assistant Texas attorney general, said.

“To entertain Bhuiyan’s complaint would reward late filers and create a perpetual motion machine of last-minute attempts to stay executions,” Dryden said.

State lawyers also contested Bhuiyan’s statements about acting on behalf of all the victims, including the widow of Vasudev Patel.

It was the shooting death of Patel, 49, during an attempted convenience store robbery in October 2001 in Mesquite, just east of Dallas, that put Stroman on death row. Patel had moved from India to Texas in 1983, and was a naturalized U.S. citizen.

His wife told the Dallas County district attorney’s office no one had permission to speak on her behalf. She was not made available for media questions as the execution date neared.

        • Bhuiyan has had 10 years to make kissy-kissy with Stroman. Just hours before his execution? Too fucking late (or at least it should be).

Any sympathy I might have ever had for Bhuyian is gone. He’s nothing more than a look-at-me piece of shit trying to get a last moment in the spot light.

        • At this rate it looks like Stroman is going to get a stay even though no one is granting it. We’ve only got three hours to go and Bhuiyan’s attorneys may have found a way to delay executions indefinitely — simply find a victim who didn’t die, who opposes the death penalty, and file away.

        • Somehow, this makes me believe thug lovers will now badger victims into “forgiving” murderers with free trips, publicity, and money to keep this idea going…
Haven’t seen any update though so it seems you may be right…

    • :-)
I will leave you alone and you’re off course entitled to your belief (this is after all Your webpage and I guess my posts will be deleted :) ). I have nothing to do with this.

Just thought that you, as well as I, are interested in trying my arguments instead of just talking to others that believe exactly what I believe. I (and I guess the rest of the western world) just believe in another way of handling things, but I’m not saying that you’re wrong. Just interested in your arguments.

The reason why I wrote on the wall was that I read a Swedish newspaper that reported about this killing/execution and this link came up when i Googled it.

  33. He was pronounced deae at 8:53 PM…? I still can’t find too much info…

    • Where does it say that? Haven’t seen anything yet…any word on the last meal??

We here feel sorry for the many chickens that lose their lives as the last meal…

    • He’s dead, Jim.
(I know I’m not the official one to say this but I understand Bones was unable to attend to his duties this evening.)

      • Justice has been served.

        • I was getting a bit concerned on this one, Robbie.

Thanks for letting me say the words tonight.

      • Thank you for continuing the tradition.
There is no hoodoo, voodoo or joojoo left for him to call on now.
He has entered the gates of Hell.

        • I would like to know how Robbie was able to edit my post to combine the Chronicle Link with my “He’s Dead, Jim” comment. I’ve wanted to do that on other sites but I’m not a techno geek.

        • I did the edit.
          Makes it look clean.
All you do is type the caption(He’s dead, Jim), place your mouse icon on the phrase, left click while dragging the icon over the caption. The phrase is then highlighted.
Next, on the tool bar above the comment box click on the icon that says insert link(the one after del) and click it. A dialogue box opens, copy the url for the webpage you wish to link, then paste the link in the dialogue box. Click submit and voila!
Try something and if it doesn’t work, I will delete it and you can try again.

  34. A Texas inmate has been executed for killing a Dallas-area convenience store clerk as part of a shooting spree that he said was in retaliation for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Mark Stroman (STROH’-muhn) was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday.

The lethal injection was briefly delayed as the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals considered a final appeal. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected appeals earlier Wednesday.

The 41-year-old Stroman claimed the shooting spree that killed two men and injured a third targeted people of Middle Eastern descent, though all three victims were from South Asia. It was the death of 49-year-old Vasudev Patel that put Stroman on death row.

The lone survivor, Rais (Raze) Bhuiyan (Boo-yon), unsuccessfully sued to stop the execution, saying his Muslim beliefs told him to forgive.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43830906

  35. Finally. Vasudev Patel was a hard working AMERICAN with a wonderful family. That this puke Stroman tried to justify this robbery/MURDER by wrapping himself around the American flag makes me sick. Enjoy Hell.

  36. Wow. The info that they finally got him isn’t even on the web yet. You are quick, dude. It isn’t a false alarm, is it?

    • No false alarm. His body is lifeless and moving closer-and-closer to room temperature with each passing second.

      • With thug loving groupies slobbering over his corpse by now…

        • ***shudders!*** There was a time when I would have thought you were being a smidge dramatic… But then someone at PTO posted pics of some MWI Hug-a-thug making our with the remains of her DR slimebag…

I was a funeral director and I have seen people give a little goodbye peck on the forehead, but never someone frenching a body… Until then… It takes a MAD amount to squick me out but those hags did it…

        • LMAO!!! EWWW!!!!!!

Yes, the Nat Geo documentary also showed a Euro Hug a Thug :-) slobbering all over her DR lover and that just made me gag…I watched her as I pictured him in that elderly woman’s beautiful home blowing her jaw off with his gun…

People like that make me ill…

      • How about the douchebag in GA, Andrew Grant Deyoung? He was supposed to go today, too. If they hurry, maybe the two of them can share a cab…

        • His was delayed by 1 day… Now set for Thursday…

        • Oh, well. What’s one more day, right?
Jenni, what was your high squick factor post about?

        • They have a different rule on their death warrants. Whenever a date is set, it can be delayed for up to seven days. Here’s a link:

          http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/execution-delayed-to-thursday-1029058.html

        • Some chick on the PTO site posted pictures of some other MWI wench , literally, making out with the dead body of her “man”… He was still strapped to the gurney and she had her tongue down his throat…

Then she wrote all about how he was still warm when she was making out with his dead body. EWWWW!!!!!

        • That made me hurl….

Empty, no self esteem, lost and lovin the “bad guy” obsession…

          How pathetic!

        • I don’t know what any of those abbreviations mean. Judging from your comments, I’m kinda glad. The whole “curiosity killed the cat” thing.

        • I’ll admitt, the 1st time I fell into PTO I was mystified!!! I started reading 1 chick’s posts and it was like she was obsessed with hooking up with offenders. Let’s see if I remember correctly… She went from her hubby who was in for arson to Chuck, Vasco (who was a sex offender), back to Chuck, to Richie (another SO), chuck AGAIN, Vasco AGAIN, Chuck, Richie… And I am sure Chuck snuck back in there a few more times…

Each time she had “finally met her soulmate” and was going to sell her house & move all 4 of her kids & her 2 grandkids to be near her dude’s prison… She was gonna get married & get tattoos of the dude’s name… Blah, blah, blah…

Than BAM! She was on to the next…

I don’t know about all of y’all but SEX OFFENDER SERVING 9 TO LIFE is one of those things that takes you OFF my list…

        • Anon,

PTO is a website for the women (and I guess men too) who are date people in prison. PrisonTalk online… MWI is Met While Incarcerated… They tend to only date dudes who are in jail & they have NEVER met before. Kind of like being an offender groupie…

        • MWI, Met While Incarcerated…yes, I’ve ventured there before…like watching a train wreck!

          They have entertaining sections….like YES, loving a sex offender..or loving a violent offender…or a lifer…

The MWIs are especially hilarious…”I wrote him…6 months later…I just KNEW he was the ONE!
Then they show the wedding pics…how do people like this really exist!?

        • Jenni, you ever hear of Catherine Tate?

        • Nope, but now I am going to HAVE to look her up… Is this going to squick me out before I go to sleep? Someone told me to look up GG Allin once & I did it before bed & had funky nightmares for days… :-P

        • Jenni, no, click on the hyperlink of her name that I posted.
She is a comedienne making fun of a well known UK thug lover.

        • Click on her name…it’s a link…you will laugh so hard your sides will hurt…freaking hilarious!

        • GG Allin?! I heard about that guy YEARS ago, one nasty freak!

          Momma didn’t love him..

  37. Look what time this was posted on this website…

    Coincidence?? I think not…

    http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2011/07/20/mark-stroman-executed-for-killing-dallas-area-store-clerk/

No word yet on the chickens…

  38. His last meal included chicken fried steak with gravy, a ham-and-cheese omelet with onions and tomatoes, bacon, fried potatoes, fried squash and okra, pork chops with eggs sunny-side up, Dr. Pepper and a pint of vanilla Blue Bell ice cream.

    There you have your chicken

    • SAVE THE CHICKENS!!!!

      WHEN WILL IT END!?

      There should be a website…CHICKEN TALK…

    • OH….THE HORROR!!
Unborn chickens were sacrificed for this cretin!
Have mercy on the poor, defenseless gallus domesticus.

    • I KNEW IT!!! I had a bet running with my Hubby that some poor Texan chicken was gonna die tonight!
      8-)

      • Jenni, sure glad you dropped in to visit.
Your dismantling of that thug lover on the Examiner was excellent and your new term “hug-a-thug” has quickly gained recognition among our merry band.

        • Thank you, ALL!!! I am more than pleased to be here…

BTW- Do we chat on all the TX Executions? If so, looks like Martin Robles is on deck…

        • Oh yes…and the “antis” love to show up sometimes and are either furious or sharing their “peace and love” for the perps…quite entertaining…

        • Yes ma’am, we do.
The crimes are explained, the victims horrors and suffering are presented and not ignored, and our great State’s system of justice is celebrated and defended…each and every time.
We also have threads on a wide assortment of issues too, but no execution in Texas goes unnoticed.
Don’t know much about Martin Robles, or if he has a following, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

        • No2Liberals–I went over to PrisonTalk and every offender with a set execution date has his/her own thread. Most of the time it’s only the same 5-6 people with the standard “praying for [offender's name] and his family during this time” (fine with me, hopefully said offender gets his affairs squared with his Maker before the appointment). But when the case gets a bit more notoriety (Stroman, Leal), then the roaches come out of the woodwork. With Robles I’m only seeing the usual suspects.

        • Mark, I sure hope you took a long, hot shower after visiting that cesspool.
I guess Robles doesn’t even get the international court treatment, as there is no mention that he was here illegally.
I expect there will be at least one who will chime in here when the thread is posted, that will say he is a changed man or to criticize our form of justice.

        • But Robles has one heck of a “looking for pen-pals” letter up… All about how he was framed because he was in a gang & that the JUST got out of prison after serving 6 years and was free for only 13 months before DPD set out to frame him, balh, blah, blah…

Then he had to tell all about how much he loves drinking & sex (he’s been locked up almost his entire life with only dudes, so I can only imagine what kind of sex he is talking about) and how he is all muscled up… ***gag!***

I bet he has a few scumpals pining away for him & they will start making the rounds now that his date is getting closer…

      • Yes!! Definitely ranks up there with Dr. Bones comments :-)

  39. BREAKING NEWS-

(CNN) — Texas inmate Mark Anthony Stroman was executed Wednesday night for killing a man from India during series of revenge shootings after the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.

Stroman was put to death at 9:53 p.m. ET, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.

The U.S. Supreme Court denied a stay of execution for Stroman last month, and his supporters — including a survivor of one of the shootings attributed to him — urged Gov. Rick Perry and the state Board of Pardons and Parole to grant clemency. The state Criminal Appeals Court denied his last appeal on Wednesday.

  40. Before his 7 p.m. execution, DeYoung will dine on pizza and breadsticks. He’s also requested strawberry preserves, vanilla ice cream and concord grape juice for his last meal.

Soooo…… If they delay for a day, does he get a second last meal?
Huh. If he does, maybe he’ll choose chicken…

    • What did he put the strawberry preserves on????

Grape juice and pizza too? Really freaking weird…

      • Honestly, these creeps have no style.
Why wouldn’t they ask for porterhouse steak, baked tater with all the fixins, strawberries and shortcake, shrimp and grits, pulled pork or some babyback ribs?
No imagination. Where they are going all they will be getting is Satan’s leavings.

  41. I’m disgusted that spent three years fighting for your right to post such hateful things about a man you never met or talked to. I’m not defending his actions but God says that no sin is worse than another. God is the judge jury and executioner and I hope that man found a place to sit next to God in heaven. Along with his brothers that he had murdered. Just let him be bud, let him be.

    • I can assure you, we are done with his murdering ass.
As for telling us what God said, you clearly need to read the Old Testament, from what I can tell, for the very first time.

      • Just think, my hubby spent over 10 years fighting for this country & our right to say whatever we damn well please… He was part of the 1st wave deployed after 9/11 and was deployed 3 more times within 6 years. He was there when they dragged Saddam out of his nasty little spider hole. He even trained British SAS. He came home to me all sorts of torn up & had to be medically retired because of injuries he got while deployed…

And FYI, MY God is a vengeful God:

Gen. 4:15 (Moses 5:40) whosoever slayeth Cain, v. shall be taken
Ps. 149:7 execute vengence upon the heathen

        • Well, give your good man a big ol’hug from us here.
Many of us here are vets. I was in on the tail end of the Asian Vacation, and was involved in operations evacuating Saigon. Robbie was a combat medic in Desert Storm.

        • Sorry to ask but you said he trained the Special Air Services ? in what capacity ?

        • IEDs

      • God Bless your husband for his service, my husband is a veteran as well.

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.

    • I’m not God, nor a very religious man. But I’m going to have to disagree on the “no sin is worse than another” angle. Taking the Lord’s name in vain vs. raping and torturing children before slowly and painfully murdering them? Not even close to the same thing. That you somehow think they are makes me wonder about your moral values.

      • Contrary to what he posts, he is defending Stroman’s actions. Why else make such a ridiculous comment?

  42. This just made me giggle. A comment from one of the “other” sites:

What is it about the Lone Star State? And why is it so damn hard to get stays and death sentences commuted to LWOP. I genuinely thought things would change with Obama in the White House but it hasn’t.

I am about to pee my pants I’m laughing so hard!

  43. Well we don’t have capital punishment in the united kingdom we did have at one time hanging but it was stopped some years back..Because it took to many innocent lives I think,
To be honest I myself am not against capital punishment. If it’s for sure the person or persons are guilty without doubt.
In England our laws are so very different to the United states of America..The punishment does not fit the crime and for the most part the victims become the guilty and out do-gooders have made it this way.
We are not allowed to carry guns or kill anybody on our land or even protect ourselves in a decent manner.
No matter what the perpetrators is doing or holding a knife or a gun at the time they attempt to rob you or rape you…
You are better off in the death sentence at least they will never be able e to kill for fun anymore and get away with it and this man deserved the death sentence he killed for pleasure…

  44. No one has the right to say this man went to hell.

    • You don’t have the right to tell us what we can say.

    • I am eatching what I say….this piece of shit is in hell. Damn glad about, as are many other citizens of this great state. Freedom of speech dickhead. I know how you liberals like to pull that card only when it applies to you, just like the race card. Any conservative, or anyone who disagrees with the liberal establishment (black, white, red, yellow) becomes a racist. I’m just glad that there are still enough of us to make right all the wrongs people like you have created.

Yes, I will watch what I say. What the hell are you going to do about it. I would love to see you try. Now go and fuck off you shit stain.

      GOD BLESS TEXAS!!

    • Not only did he go straight to hell, he went in the, just off the conveyor belt, 2012 hand basket.

  45. I know this is a bit off topic….

Does anyone know what the execution of Ivan Cantu was stayed??? He is off the scheduled” list at TDCJ and his “wifey” posted that he got a stay on July 22nd, but there is no meantion as to why…

    THANKS!

    • Yes. The defense either made a better argument and satisfied the criteria of their Tex. Code Crim. Proc. art. 64.03(a) motion, or the AG decided to not object and avoid a federal appeal on the denial of the motion.

      http://goo.gl/t0qqf

  46. Thanks, Anon, but I believe that particular appeal was answered and denied Jan 26 2011… I can’t find anything past that time period that states that either there was a NEW appeal issued on his behalf or that this one taken to a different court…

    Thanks again…

    • Thanks, Anon, but I believe that particular appeal was answered and denied Jan 26 2011…

And you would be wrong….Read it. It has nothing to do with the denial of the Tex. Code Crim. Proc. art. 64.03 motion by the trial court and TCCA.

I can’t find anything past that time period that states that either there was a NEW appeal issued on his behalf or that this one taken to a different court…

Read what I originally posted: The defense either made a better argument and satisfied the criteria of their Tex. Code Crim. Proc. art. 64.03(a) motion, or the AG decided to not object and avoid a federal appeal on the denial of the motion.
