I have very little doubt that once Governor Rick Perry announces that he’s running for President that our local Texas Tribune — who is still pretending to be an unbiased and objective media group — will become the unofficial (hell…what do I know…it might actually become the official) Obama-media Rick Perry attack dog (Texas affiliate). Hell, he’s not even running yet, and the Texas Tribune is already attacking him on behalf of the Democrat Party as if though he were running.

You’d think that a local paper media org would be looking for ways to promote the local boy. Stories on his successes and achievements. Positive spin on his campaign. But they won’t. Well…there might be an exception here and there, but you can bet your last paycheck (if you’re not one of the nearly 20% of Americans no longer drawing a check in Obama’s failed economy) that they will be balanced by a heavy dose of “…but, here’s some dirt, too,” and that the majority of their spin will be negative on the longest serving Governor in Texas’ history.

Perry hasn’t even announced yet, but these are the types of things that the Trib is posting on their Facebook and Twitter feeds (directing views back to their news site):

The Tribune attacks on Perry have already started

The Tribune attacks on Perry have already started

That was on June 13…almost a month ago…but not too soon for the partisan hacks at the Trib to start trying to sow seeds of doubts in voters minds about a Gov. Perry candidacy.

And of course the Trib’s resident anti-death penalty activist / death row inmate groupie (Brandie Grissom) has already penned her piece trying to convince you that Gov. Perry’s support of the death penalty is going to hurt him nationally:

Tribune attacks Perry for supporting the laws of Texas`

In addition to being anti-death penalty, I think it's fair to also paint "journalist" Brandi Grissom as anti-Rick Perry

Apparently Ms. Grissom and her ilk can’t fathom a Governor who upholds the laws of the state. In case she’s forgotten, the Death Penalty was law long before Gov. Perry took office. It is a law that the people of Texas overwhelmingly support (well, except for the fine folks at the Trib, anyway). While one journalist might have spun Gov. Perry’s support of the death penalty as a positive (hey, here’s a guy who not only supports the law of the land, but also sees that those laws are upheld by the state), Ms. Grissom goes the other way and tries to paint that as a negative for a campaign for an office he hasn’t even declared for.

Way to get out ahead of the story, Brandi. Now, run off…don’t you have a prayer vigil or protest to attend for tomorrow’s execution of illegal alien/rapist/ murderer Humberto Leal?

I’ll be keeping a close eye on the “totally unbiased, objective, and professional” reporters at the Trib and their completely unbiased stories on Gov. Perry over the coming months to illustrate their ridiculous claim of “unbiased” reporting.

  1. Robbie, for the past couple of weeks, since the buzz got really loud about Rick’s possible run, I have been monitoring the news articles and the responses posted to them. My God, Rick does seem to cause the left to become apoplectic. The left is virutally drooling all over themselves trying to discredit our state’s success and the fact that Rich has contributed to that success.

Did you know that Rick Perry :

is on the take from big business
singlehandedly murders innocent people like Cameron Todd Willingham (who was a total slug)
appoints only HIS buddies to positions of power (unlike any Democrat governor in America, LOL)
has created the worst schools, the worst state debt, the worst living conditions, the poorest paying jobs and (this will cause you a chuckle)
supports illegal immigration and open borders

Rick Perry is GAY. (oddly enough, I got the impression that for the left being gay was a good thing, but I guess if you are gay it really isn’t a good thing until it is time for you, as a gay, to enter the voting booth)

Rick Perry is driving the left absolutely nuts. Which reminds me why I believe that the left will ALWAYS tell you who they are afraid of.

  2. When you have a strongly biased media it results in us vs. them.
Too bad ’cause in my mind that makes them as bad as most any criminal. I’d be embarressed today if I were saddled with the title of journalist.

  3. *shrug*
He hasn’t said he’s going to run and I don’t think he’s gonna. He was just out fundraising for the GOP Governors Association over the holiday weekend. Not sure how much they raised. I don’t WANT him to run. He needs to keep his ass firmly planted here in the governors chair and finish out his term, which is only the 1st of several reasons I don’t want him running. Personally I’d love a Bachmann or Cain ticket. Hell a Bachmann/Cain or a Cain/Bachmann ticket would set me into howls of laughter and joy. Why? Think about the Massively Shitbrained Media’s reaction has been for the last several years to Sarah Palin! Can you imagine the feigned outrage and the outright fear that kind of ticket would engender in the MSM? I can and I’m holding in a cruel and evil sounding cackle at the thought right now. Though I suppose I can allow myself a snicker. So…*snicker*
