His Crimes
On the night of November 12, 2002, Robles and his buddy Joe David “Magic” Padron (both drug-dealing Corpus Christi street gang members) broke into the home of rival gang bangers Jesus Omar Gonzalez and John Commisky and shot them to death:
Autopsies determined that Gonzalez had been shot at least fifteen times, primarily in the head, while Commisky was shot at least fourteen times, mostly in the back. Commisky and Gonzalez were shot from a distance of no more than two-and-a-half feet away.
After investigation, Robles and Padron were arrested for killing Commisky and Gonzalez.
In a conversation with another inmate following his arrest, Pardon said he and Robles went to the house and “went to the room and shot them two people.”
Another inmate overheard a conversation between Robles and Padron. Padron claimed that he had killed for Robles, but Robles corrected him and stated that Padron froze at the critical moment and Robles had to go through with the killing.
Robles has never been good. He’s been evil for a long, long time. He has zero redeeming value as a human, and no value to this society other than worm food. Which is what he’ll be in about 30 hours.

I posted my comments because some idiots are claiming that he was convicted based only on the testimony of a jailhouse snitch. Not true. In fact, post conviction, I don’t see where the defense is arguing that it was not him who shot the guys. They are only objecting to the death sentence.
Same with Woods in that the antis are making an argument that the defense is not making. And the defense is not making it because it is factually untrue.
The saddest thing about this — is that it’s the ONLY execution this month. We have to wait a whole month before the next one. (Though in September there are four scheduled, so death row will be much more empty afterwards).

Because you thug lovers challenged the death penalty laws and argued that the jury must not only consider the actual crime but mitigation factors, too. So, now juries have to consider both the aggravating and mitigating factors. According to the thug, Pardon did not have the balls to shoot and had to be urged to do it. Also, Robles past criminal record, including a murder, and his violent conduct in prison convinced the jury that he would be a future danger.
The difference between pros and you thug lovers is that we value the lives of the innocent while your panties get wet over the lives of the murderers.

I respect all of your opinions and agree with some of them. As as lawyer to this day I am still not sure if I even agree with our government systematically killing people.
I do believe in redemption and forgiveness and in some cases when an offender goes to the gurney 15 yrs after a crime he may be a different person. Someone who is truly sorry. I used to be strongly in favor of the death penalty now I am not so sure after learning some of the things I learned as an attorney.
However, what is VERY insulting is when you go on anit-death penalty website they make these convicted killers who in some cases done the unspeakable out to be victims. No matter how you feel about lethal injection, it is always a more peaceful way to go then what the vicitims had. These killers get a chance to repent, be at peace, find god, and reach out to love ones. I just think sometimes people get so caught up in the debate that they lose site of who the real victims are, that is all I am saying.

Also, since the crime occurred before 2005, he’s not eligible for lwop but life with parole only. You can not sentence someone under a law that did not exist at the time the crime was committed. Furthermore, lwop is a greater sentence than life with parole and would be barred under the ex post facto clause of the US and Texas Constitutions.

Martin Robles is innocent. He has never taken anyones life as they say he did. Yes he was locked up at the age of 17 for a murder charge but he was only charged with that because he was walking with the guy who actually did the shooting and Martin had no idea what his friend was going to do that. He did not take anyones life either back in Nov 2002. This so called justice system is only going by what these guys are saying probably just to lighten their own sentence time. There was no DNA to prove that he committed this crime. If this guy that was supposely in the house when the shooting took place why did it take months before Martin was locked up for these crimes he did NOT committ? I believe Martin when he says he was set up by the cops. I believe his is innocent and his life is going to be taken away without cause or justice. the jury states something about his tattoos bein this and that, that has nothing to do with the case. That should have been thrwn out of the court. He past record ok. We all made mistakes and did things as children that doesnt mean anything. People do change. He is a great, loving, kind, honest man. He is not this monster the media makes him out to be. I was with him for many years and he never had an ounce of hate in him. He is an awesome man. Please set him free..

i went to martin middle school and ray high school with martin robles and was my friend and no one really knew what life he lived at home as a child .his mother was mentally challenged and couldnt fend for him so his grandmother raised him and when i would go over to spend time with martin, the refridgerator would be chained and with a lock and was only limited to a drink and other food so how would someone feel living in a house hold like that noone showing him any kind of tlc or any kind of affection or sence of direction no mother or father to look up to or communicate with to me martin robles was a smart person and on going and about the drugs since he was ten is all a lie
and when i met up with martin robles at the boys and girls club on greenwood in cc,tx he was in the half way house i had aked him what was up with him martin told me he has was in a state of mind of confussion and for me not to worry about anything to just go back to my family and that im lucky to have one cuz on the other hand he was less fortunate he didnt have anyone cuz what i would witness at his home his family didnt care for martin at all cuz he was a bastard child and how can you love a child that you dont even know who his father was and his own family would tell him to leave, what are you doing here, so martin had a rough child hood, and also a rough life so rest in peace my friend, had lots of great times together while we were growing up
