NY: Thug of Undetermined Race Stabs Man for Refusing to Give Him a Dollar

This is the kind of reporting that drives me insane (and is an actual danger to the community this news org is supposed to be serving):

Police are looking for a man who stabbed a pedestrian on Long Island after asking him for a dollar.

Nassau County police say the 27-year-old victim was walking on Nassau Road in Roosevelt Monday evening when the suspect approached and asked him for one dollar.

The victim said he didn’t have any money and continued walking.

Police say the suspect followed him and then pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the stomach and hand multiple times.

A passing motorist scared the suspect off.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as being about 5’7″ with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a red and black New York Yankees cap with a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, police said.

Hmmm…what other piece of information could NBC New York have provided that might more easily help the community identify this dangerous attacker? Since the race of the attacker is not given, I think it’s safe to assume that is because he was black.

In fact, I’d put my next paycheck up against the editor of NBC New York’s that the perp is black.
