Don Surber has the answer:

I am not saying Sarah Palin will be the nominee. I am saying the country is more conservative today than it was 3 years ago. The Tea Party’s complaints about the profligate spending by this administration is now the majority opinion, even if the Tea Party’s reputation has been smeared by false charges of racism.

The swing right is as it should be. The most liberal president in history has implemented liberal policies in full and they have failed, failed and failed. President Obama’s failures led last year to the biggest backlash against a Democratic president since 1946 — and remember, Democrats had held the White House for 14 years when that happened. The pendulum of American politics snapped back and hit liberalism upside the head.

President Obama still does not get what happened. His class warfare is a last ditch effort to save his presidency. This will fail. But his desperation is in reaction to the polls.
