First a little levity from Chris Muir.

Which, besides being funny, brings us to an excellent article by George Will that thoroughly dissects Romney as a GOP candidate. Keep in mind George Will was a conservative before Reagan was President and even though he exposes Romney in an intelligent manner, he does so completely and unapologetically.

This paragraph expresses what I and many other conservatives believe about Romney:

Romney, supposedly the Republican most electable next November, is a recidivist reviser of his principles who is not only becoming less electable; he might damage GOP chances of capturing the Senate. Republican successes down the ticket will depend on the energies of the Tea Party and other conservatives, who will be deflated by a nominee whose blurry profile in caution communicates only calculated trimming.

In my view, Romney is a political weather vane, he points in the direction the wind is blowing and has no core principles other than what is best for him.

We have been down this road too many times, letting the establishment tell us who our next candidate will be and look at what that has accomplished, with McCain being the last example.
With Romney, conservatives are once again being told to shut up, sit down and vote for the candidate chosen by your betters in the GOP. Then if we conservatives don’t vote in large numbers for their choice, those who don’t will be excoriated and our complaints about the choice of candidate will be ignored…again.

I’ve been saying it for years, the real battle isn’t between the two parties, it is for the heart and soul of the GOP. With someone like Romney being foisted upon us, how can there be any doubt?

One Response to “Conservatives Not Buying The Establishment’s Choice, Romney”

  1. It is way past time to turnover the GOP/RNC and get the liberal and moderate deadwood out. The best way to destroy this clique of Northeastern elites is to starve them of funding.
