The brilliant young writer Ben Shapiro, wise beyond his years, has written this wonderful tribute to a man who was a hero in every respect and in all his endeavors.

The gentleman he pays tribute to is Jack Slomovic, and in his 86 years of life he was a hero for surviving Hitler’s death camps, fighting for the independence of Israel, starting and building a successful business and family, then being generous with his charitable giving.

Mr. Slomovic had this to say about the key of life:

“You have to be happy with what you have, but you also have to get satisfaction out of achieving.”

Words of a hero and a life well spent.

In the times we find ourselves in, knowing of men like Mr. Slomovic and honoring him as a model for man and as a hero, puts the focus where it really belongs and not on greedy, lazy whiners who don’t approach the measure of a hero in any manner.

One Response to “‘Death Of A Hero’ Is A Must Read”

  1. This is a wonderful post. Thank you!
I have read countless books on the holocaust. Survivor’s stories that portray the struggle and perseverance so many people endured and the way they rebuilt their lives, many without any families left. These stories should never be forgotten and shared with the world to remind us of what life is really about.
To overcome, succeed, appreciate the very breath we have, and to give back and help others.
Truly an inspiration. I wish more of these experiences were taught in school so our children can be motivated to rise above and value their lives. The history books are being re-written even here in Texas and the holocaust as well as the vietnam war are a mere 1 paragraph now. Insulting to those that fought and those that survived these horrific events…now the books have added things like Oprah…what is the world coming to?
