Want to significantly decrease the chance of being the victim of violent crime in America?
Perhaps the single best preventive measure you can take is to avoid any place where young black people congregate en mass. At the mall, at amusement parks, at sporting events, and fast food joints, and on public transportation.
71% of all black children live in a home without their fathers. Not only are their father’s absent from their lives, but in many cases there is zero parental guidance or involvement from their mothers either.
All across America, groups of black youths roam their cities terrorizing their communities with violence and intimidation. And they’re getting younger-and-younger. In Dallas, a pack of 12-14 year old black thugs we’re bullying a 19-year old kid who was on his way to a medical appointment for his severe diabetes.
They wanted the Ipod that Octavius Lanier had bought with money he earned from his job. When he wouldn’t give it to them, they pushed him in front of a train.
Lanier was on the DART train when witnesses reported a gang of teens between 12 and 14 years old tried to rob him of his iPod.
“They were going to bully him to take it from him,” Harper said.
When Lanier refused to give it up, the boys followed him off the train at the MLK Rail Station in South Dallas. They pushed him off the platform and his foot got wedged between the platform and the train. When the train started moving, he was dragged.
Lanier died from his injuries.
Animals. A dangerous pack of animals. That is all they are.
Black culture in America is horrifically and tragically regressing. And it’s a cultural problem. The mother of one of the thugs involved sought out and apologized on behalf of her son.
But it begs the question — where wre the parents of all these boys? Why were they out on a train with adults at night?
I hope they find all the thugs involved, and I hope they are punished as harshly as the law allows.

The parenting or lack there of as you stated is a direct cause of these actions. No regard for others or life itself. Even if these little thug wannabes do not do any major time for this, they will end up on lockdown one day sadly causing more harm to innocent victims.

Regretfully, they cannot be executed because of age. BUT they can be locked up for ever as this is being treated as a capitol crime. So the burden of taking care of these sub-human pieces of filth will fall on the taxpayer.

I did an Internet search on this tragic story and was surprised to find a write-up on UrbanGrounds since Robbie’s from Austin and this happened in Dallas. (It was the fourth hit on Bing!) Of course, I had to stop by and read this story first.
I feel such sorrow for this young man. Not only did he have to struggle with a medical condition during his short life, but he then had to suffer an unspeakably horrible death after being outnumbered and bullied by a gang of underaged miscreants who felt grossly entitled to one of his hard-earned possessions.

How can she acknowledge that she led a lifestyle that allowed her child to “see a bunch of shit” growing up, yet not feel any culpability for the path her child is currently on? Most telling about the lack of parenting is the comment about “juvey.” It is unpardonably negligent for a parent to rely on juvenile detention, the law, or school to instill values and to enforce behavior control on his or her child. No institution can instill values in children (the most basic value being respect for others, which would, in turn, instill respect for one’s self). Instilling values and enforcing them must be done at home on a day to day basis–and values must be modeled by a primary caretaker for a child to truly absorb them.
Hopefully, this parent will acknowledge her past caretaker mistakes so she can start doing things differently with her remaining children. It would be unforgivably negligent if she chose to keep going with her current status quo, choosing to just wait and let “juvey” provide some type of guidance to her other children as well.

It is a known fact that children who come from a strong two parent family where the husband and wife work together and instill respect for family and home do much better than single parent households in raising productive and self assured future citizens. That single parent must work more to provide or utilizes welfare in many of these situations but needless to say, the children are left unattended often and are provoked by peers who are also unattended. They are taught less and rely on friends to learn which can have devastating effects with no parental guidance or lack thereof. Judging is natural when people that follow the law see crime taking advantage of innocent victims. Most arguably hold disdain for those that show no regard for life. It is ridiculous to think that anyone that witnesses such criminal behavior would only hope the best for the criminal, that they see the light so to speak. Anger is normal. We can not help these children. Jail or juvenile detention does not help these children. Only the parents are to blame. But once they reach a certain age where reason and awareness of right and wrong are present, they are and should be held accountable for their crimes and these criminals should be held to the fullest extent of the law..or and I guarantee..one day, they will be locked down for life. The only way to make a difference in the overwhelming trend of black families that do follow this path to destruction is for the parents to stop acting entitled, quit acting like thugs, and act responsibly for their OWN actions and stop blaming the “white” man for all their problems. It starts at home. The traditional black family worked hard and wanted their children to succeed and do well and somewhere along the way, that was lost (to most) and the disintegration of what the grandparent’s dreams were was lost through welfare, drugs, and self loathing.

Thank you and I agree. I admit, I have shown anger and disdain often on this blog when reading about senseless violent crime that keeps escalating. But no where have I lost the reality that not ALL black families are like this. I have wonderful friends of all races. Unfortunately, the actions of violent criminals does attempt to ruin the outlook on the race but my anger is not at the race but the actions. It just seems like more and more young black youth are becoming angrier and angrier and not being raised to respect life or each other.
I was mugged by two young black boys when I was in my 20′s and carried anger for a long time. They walked up and seemed like nicely dressed people and began to talk to me and within a matter of seconds the fight was one. I won. And dressed rather femininely I would add. I was injured though.
That did not make me hate all black people, but definitely put me on guard around strangers and the capabilities of those just out to hurt and take. Political correctness is trying to make everyone not stereo type but I would no rather walk through a ghetto at 10 pm alone just like I wouldn’t make myself available around white meth addicts like the ones I see on the show Cops. Their not hard to pick out and would hurt and take from an innocent in a heart beat to secure that evil drug.
In summary, actions like the ones portrayed in this post will always cause anger and until something major is done to curb the ongoing path to more children like this being born and raised without proper guidance, the violence will continue…

As a young black man I am ashamed of my people. We was once a proud people who overcame slavery Jim, Reconsltruction, Civil Rights movement. We used to get married, now we’re nothing but baby mamas and baby daddies. We’re falling behind in all aspects of life, we got the highest high school drop out rate. Our children have the the lowest scores on standardized testing. They lack the basic reading, writing and math skills. They have a high number of absences from school. They are undisciplined and disrespectful. They’re getting left back one and two grades. And their mothers don’t care because they’re too busy making more illegitimate children they won’t take care of. Two and three different fathers for two and three different children. They don’t teach them to be courteous, respectful and to value life, not even the lives of their own people. Drug selling and Thugging have replaced becoming educated and finding a good job, or opening a business. Our women are slovenly, unkempt, overweight or morbidly obese. They are loud and combative have nasty dispositions.. They attempt to compensate by wearing weaves and wigs, and squeezing their obese bodies into clothes that are too small, proudly proclaiming that they are curvy. They brag about keeping it real, when they’re just being rude and nasty. My black brothers are no better. They sire children and abandon them like animals in the wild. They whine about the white man holding them down, yet make no effort to better themselves. They make no effort to be good fathers. And the women who breed with them make no effort to find a man who will be a good husband to them and a good father to their children. Screwing indiscriminately has replaced love and respect and the family. They hate themselves and they are jealous of an hate black people who do well, graduate high school, go to college, get married, buy a house, and raise children. Another reason I am ashamed, no oher race has the high illegitimate birthrate that we do. We have a 71 percent illegitimate birthrate, now compare that to the 12 to 14% rate for Asian women, the lowest of all groups in this country. Some of my brothers and sisters act as if they cannot control their sexual desire and to make it worse, they leave behind their evidence of that in the form of illegitimate children who many will never meet their father, and their mothers will coddle and baby them, I’m talking specifically about coddling boys. The boys will grow up feminine and emotional. The girls will grow up to be promiscuous and breed babies like their mothers.

I agree with most of you that the lack of parenting is the core problem with today’s youth. I don’t think that any of us can truthfully pinpoint these problems on just one or two races. I think the problem with today’s youth is a cultural problem. Drugs, easy money, easy lay and bling are what drive youth today. Ethics, hard work and morals are out of the door. These problems transcend racial lines. I’m sure we all can find these problems across all races in America. Lack of parenting is a large factor (whether the children are in a two or single parent home) but you can’t dismiss the state of our economy, the medias lack of respect for family values, this so called music that is in heavy rotation and the removal of a “higher being” in what our country was initially built on. We are all so quick to point the finger at a person’s race as being a issue the truth is the I’m sure if we all take a look at our own lifestyles in one degree or another there is something that you or someone else around you is doing that perpetuates this behavior. A video game (Grand Theft Auto; Left for Dead) pop and rap music everything is sexually explicit or condones felonious behavior now of days. DISD is horrible! I remember when I was in school there were plays and after school programs. The children that I do know of that are in the district don’t have near the amount of plays and extracurricular activities that we did 25 years ago. Most of the problem is money is not only short but the money is being allocated to programs for ESL and to accommodate the influx of students in the district that don’t have a high taxpayer return. My point is that the burden lies on our society and culture as a whole and until we ALL get back to some of the core values that were important 60 years ago like family, community, hard work and serving a higher being WE ARE ALL DOOMED no matter what zip code you live in.
Furthermore, racism, stereotyping and racial bias is alive and prevalent today. Not only are most of the comments on this post a indicator to common views amongst our society towards minorities but until you have walked in the shoes of a minority then how can you truthfully say that racism is dead? My children attend a multi-cultural school in which they are new to the district, from the time that my oldest was interviewed to the Gifted and Talented program to the time the principle automatically recruited my son to the basketball team we have been met with racism. They all claim to be non-racist but we were given the pep-talk ” if you fail the entrance test, being admitted to G.T doesn’t count in elementary school” before he even took the test. When the basketball team was starting the principle automatically sent my son to practice during gym (without my consent) before even asking if my son wanted to play basketball – I guess they just assumed because he was black he wants to and can play…..We all have to do better.
