Don’t worry, LA…the rest of us will soon be paying $5 (and likely a lot more) gasoline, too. I hope a lot of people have to fill their cars up (at $100+ fill-ups) on their way to the ballot box in November. And remember, these high gas prices that are breaking your backs are the direct result of and the intended consequences of Obama’s energy policy.

*headdesk* Not surprised. It’s rapidly heading that way in Texas too. @ $3.55 a gallon to fill up, it’s already costing me around $30 for HALF a tank, for my S10 Blazer and Ford Taurus. I put $25 in the blazer the other day from just under a half tank. Know where that got me? Just a shade over 3/4′s of a tank. On the Taurus? $35 to go from 1/4 tank to right at or just under actually, 3/4′s tank. Obama can fuck off and die, and take the rest of the goddamn government with him.

I think he meant through investing in fuel-efficient vehicles and public transit. Not just voting for some guy that said he’d magically dig up more oil.
Have you researched the emissions from the power plants of “fuel-efficient” vehicles? Do you know how much longer their larger sized batteries stay in dumps? Do you know how much more often they must be replaced? If voting for someone that can drill locally is the BEST I can do then so be it.
Adrian, if you’re referring to “hybrid” and “electric” vehicles. they are BOTH huge crocks of shit. Hybrid? Most of them run on what is essentially corn liqour. Only one problem with that. Planting fields of corn so you can convert them into fuel, wastes time and resources that could be used for FOOD instead. Beside do you have any idea what it takes to make that shit? I do.

WHERE is the power going to come from? Oh…THAT’s right. It’s going to come from either coal or nuclear fired plants, which all the “green energy” folk try to say is EVIL. of which MORE will have to be built to satisfy the power demands for the cars, AND regular usage to keep the damn grid from crashing.
If you’re implying that we’re going to run out of oil anytime soon, do your research instead of listening to the Massively Stupid Media, liberal politicians and junk scientists. There on and under American. soil alone is anywhere between 350-500 YEARS of oil, that includes shale. Natural Gas? Coal? hundreds years more.
Public Transit? nope sorry…for most people it just won’t float. Most city’s are too big for that, and even most big cities that have it have massive cost over runs because the various companies that build and run the transit systems, fuck them over at every turn. I can tell you that one for a fact, that in my city it doesn’t work half as well as they say it does. The city and it’s outlying areas are so damn huge that unless you’re staying in the metro area or VERY nearby suburban areas…you can’t get back and forth because the system doesn’t extend THAT far out. Plus since they added the goddamn trains it’s added complications. Plus they have jacked up the rates for bus fares yet again. Used to be you could buy a “Day Pass” for the bus system that would let you ride any where,, anytime for a 24hr period for just $2. Do they do that any more? Nope. PLUS the machines in the buses that used to accept cash, coins or weekly/monthly/yearly bus passes, Have been replaced with new ones that now only accept those passes which aren’t monthly/weekly etc…you buy them and then reload them with money as needed now, like a refillable gift card, and cash. If you pay cash you DON’T get change. you have to pay that amount for EVERY bus you get on. Besides in a city as large as Houston, do you have ANY idea how long it takes to get from one side of town to the others on the bus? I do. See, I’d rather not waste MY time riding buses for 2hrs or better, ONE way; on a trip I can make in my own vehicle in 15 goddamn minutes! Or 30-45min on my mountain bike.
What a biiiig issue 25 years ago we paid your todays fuel price and today we pay equal to $ 8,50 per gal so don’t cry you should rather focus on the real problems

I know quiet a few people that moved here from the UK throughout the years and they say it sucks living there. Horrible. My friend’s dad makes 100,000 a year, pays 70,000 in taxes, keeps 30,000. Oh yes, medical is free but he has to wait FOREVER to be properly cared for. And so many other things that have made their lives unbearable working themselves to death to give it all to the powers that be.
