UPDATE — Unfucking believable. But this triple-murdering piece of shit has received a third stay:
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) – The U.S. Supreme Court has stopped the execution of a man convicted of fatally shooting three teenage housemates in Amarillo more than 14 years ago.
Justices decided Wednesday to halt the punishment until it resolves an appeal seeking review of John Balentine’s case. The reprieve for the 43-year-old inmate came less than an hour before the former auto mechanic’s scheduled execution in Huntsville.
- Thug: John Uzell Balentine (28 at time of offense)
- Date of Execution: August 22, 2012, sometime shortly after 6:00 pm HTT
- Date of Crime: January 21, 1998
- Victim(s): Mark Caylor, Jr., 17, Kai Geyer, 15. and Steven Brady Watson,15
- Last Meal: Same shit salad being fed to every other thug on the row that day
- Final Words: TBD
This undeniably-guilty confessed triple-murderer has his third execution date since 2009, having been stayed twice before at the last minute. Hopefully his third trip to the death chamber will be his last, and I pray that final justice is (finally) served on this vile piece of shit.
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected his latest appeal, and the Board of Pardon and Paroles has declined to recommend clemency. Which means this thing is a pretty sure bet to go down as scheduled this time.
(Is this PoS’s middle name Uzell — per the TDCJ web site — or is it LeZell, per the 5th CA document?)
As to be expected the Prison Talk groupies are all beside themselves.
Facts of the Crime
For those who have forgotten:
In the early morning hours of January 21, 1998, Balentine armed himself with a .32 automatic pistol and walked several miles to the home he used to share with Misty Caylor. Once inside the home, Balentine shot and killed three teenagers—Misty Caylor’s 17-year-old brother, Mark Caylor, Jr. and two 15-year-old boys, Kai Geyer and Steven Brady Watson. Each victim was shot in the head while asleep. Balentine was later arrested in Houston, where he confessed to murdering the three teens. Balentine told authorities that he knew Mark Caylor, Jr., but did not know the identity of the other two boys whom he shot and killed.
We have nearly another full month before the next inmate has a date with the gurney. Robert Wayne Harris is scheduled for execution on September 20.
