Lethal injection is much too kind of a fate for this evil monster, but at least he’ll get that.

Hernandez, 39, told a family member he was “sorry for putting you through all this” after a warden asked if he wanted to make a final statement.
“Tell everybody I love them,” the condemned inmate said, directing his words at his brother who was standing nearby and watching through a window.
Glancing briefly at relatives of his victim, Hernandez said: “I’m very sorry for all the pain.” Then he urged other prisoners on death row to “keep fighting; don’t give up.”
He took several breaths as the lethal dose of pentobarbital took effect, then began snoring quietly. Within a minute, all movement stopped.
His time of death was announced as 6:38 p.m. CST, which was 26 minutes after the drug started to be released into his body.

I almost forgot that we had an execution today in Texas. But I’m glad I remembered, because this sick, evil animal is one of the most vile pieces of shit to sit on death row I’ve ever seen. He left a wake of terror, death, and destruction every single place he stepped foot in this life, and the world will be a much better and much safer place once he’s gone from it (which will be in about 10 hours from this posting).
The crime for which he is officially being executed for is vile and evil enough:
On March 31, 2001, in San Antonio, Texas, Hernandez and two of his buddies ( his girlfriend Asel Abdygapparova and Santos Minjarez), were driving down the road when they saw 37-year old single mother Rosa Maria Rosado sitting at a bus stop by herself. Minjarez tried to grab her purse, but when she resisted, they pulled her into their car. They then drove to Hernandez’ house to get duct tape with which to bind and gag Rosado.
They then drove her to a motel where Hernandez and Minjarez raped Rosado before strangling her to death.
And in case that wasn’t evil enough, Hernandez told his girlfriend — while Rosado was still alive, being beaten and raped — to go to the store and buy a shovel with which they could use to bury Rosado’s dead body. I cannot even imagine the fear this poor woman must have felt, knowing she would never she her children again.
After they killed her, they drove her body to a wooded area and buried her in a shallow grave.
When she was arrested, Abdygapparova, a master’s student from Kazakhstan, confessed every thing to the police and led them to the buried body as well as to the motel where they raped and killed Rosado. During the trial, Abdygapparova testified against her boyfriend.
Prior Criminal Record
Like I said, if this were the only crime this animal ever committed, it would still justify the death penalty. But, sadly, we know that there is much, much more.
On the night that he murdered Rosado, he was out on parole after serving just a few years on an 18-year sentence for 3 counts of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Theft. During one of those home invasions, he also raped a 21-year old woman who was unfortunate enough to be home, but lucky to still be alive. He was released to parole on June 11, 1993.
The following year — while he was still supposed to be in prison, if it wasn’t for our bullshit legal system that routinely puts dangerous animals back onto the streets without serving their time for horrific crimes — Hernandez raped and murdered two middle school girls, Sarah Gonzales (12) and her cousin Priscilla Almares (13). The girls were abducted in San Antonio in December 1994. The next day, their bodies were found in the brush by a road. Both had been raped, brutally beaten in the face and head, and strangled to death. An anal swab of Gonzales found sperm, but a vaginal slide found none. A 2001 test showed Hernandez’s DNA was a match.
That’s right — he anally raped a young girl before murdering her and dumping her body on the side of the road.
I can only hope that Satan spends the rest of eternity doing the same to Hernandez.
On top of all that, officials in Bandera County south of San Antonio also considered him a prime suspect in the deaths of teens Jennifer Taylor and Laura Gamez, who disappeared a month before Gonzales and Almares. Their bodies were discovered on a ranch belonging to Hernandez’ uncle in Bandera County one year after they were killed.
I hope his execution is painful. I hope he’s scared shitless and crying like a bitch in his cell right now. I hope nobody comes to visit him. I hope he dies alone and afraid.
The Co-Defendents
Santos Minjarez was also sentenced to death but died of an illness on death row in January 2012.
Abdygapparova, who was five months pregnant with Hernandez’ child at the time of the killing, told authorities she feared for her life and was coerced into taking part. She was sentenced to life in prison and will be eligible for parole in 2045.

We won’t have to wait long for the next execution, either, as Preston Hughes is scheduled for the rare back-t0-back execution tomorrow evening, Hughes was convicted of killing a 15-year-old girl and her three-year-old cousin in 1988.

There are those on death row where you MIGHT think the death penalty MAY be a bit too harsh.
This one isn’t one of them, though. And his cert was denied on October 1 of this year.

Waiting for the post on Hughes–during the time he’s been on death row I’ve bought a house AND paid it off.
I’ve seen nothing on any other appeals pending, though I am by no means the expert on this.
So hopefully we’ll have no last-minute glitches and one more spot on death row will be vacant tonight.
I have to admit that this type of crime is appalling and it is very difficult to make an argument against the death penalty based on what this piece of filth did all those years ago. My heart goes out to the family who should at last get their justice today.
How comes Preston Hughes has been on Death Row for such a long time?
He’s filed tons of appeals (and by him I really do mean him, he’s filed most of them pro se though he has an attorney of record).
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has instructed the local district court NOT to grant any stays. I believe one federal court has instructed him not to file any further pro se appeals as they will not be considered (it was posted elsewhere here by someone else, it may have been No2).
All he’s done is try to delay the inevitable. And hopefully tomorrow night we will accomplish the back-to-back clearing of death row spaces. Then, come January 2013, accomplish a very rare feat–the execution of a female convict (Kimberly McCarty).
The death penalty is not rough enough. The convicted should have to experience exactly what their victims did before being slowly killed.
I hate to bring up the Dark Side (Prison Talk) but their main moderator heard that Hernandez’s attorneys don’t expect to file any more appeals. And the only posts there are the garden-variety “thoughts and prayers for the condemned and his family and all those affected” (as opposed to Hughes where they’re claiming he didn’t do it).
As much as I oppose their anti-death penalty views, when they hear something on a case they tend to post it quickly and it’s often accurate.
(By accurate, I mean that a development in a case really did happen. Not accurate as far as their twisted views on guilt-innocence or anything like that.

What do you think the chances of Preston Hughes getting another stay tommorow?
What little I’ve seen on the recent opinions and orders appears to be standard boilerplate language declining relief, with no lengthy dissents as with Balentine and Haynes. So on that front it looks as if the execution will take place.
The only concern is that he has so many attempts to nail jello to the wall going at this time (at least two per the Attorney General’s news release), you just wonder if something isn’t going to stop it (as was the case with John Ferguson down in Florida, where on October 23 the SCOTUS denied a stay THREE TIMES, yet he still managed to get a stay and on the fourth try the SCOTUS didn’t overturn the stay).

Talking of nailing Jelly to a wall. What is the position with Hank Skinner?
There was some activity around June-July with Skinner’s case before the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals but I will need to do more research to see what happened.
OK it appears that both parties agreed to joint DNA testing so the appeal was dismissed by TCCA in July of this year.
I do not have any clue as to what the results were or whether testing was completed, but I will continue to search.

Cannot find anything more on Skinner’s case. All the recent stuff pertains to the agreement to test the evidence and it’s all from known anti-death penalty sites. So if the DNA evidence failed to exonerate him I would not be shocked that the news was suppressed.

As to Hughes, his faux lawyer filed a motion for DNA testing on Monday. It finally appeared on the docket today but then it disappeared. I suspect that the court is refusing to accept motions from anyone who is not counsel of record. The dna motion is nothing but an attempt to relitigate old issues and attacks on the counsel of record. Now, the faux lawyer is asking for people to contact the gov. directly and ask for a 30 day stay and dna testing. As to why the vag swab was not tested remember Hughes said that he had consensual sex with the victim.
Somebody posted this on another thread but you are right. The faux lawyer in this case is Hughes himself filing pro se appeals. The courts are not allowing Hughes to file any more pro se appeals (since he has an attorney of record).
The fake lawyer is John Bennett Allen. He is writing and filing all those writs/motions and claiming they are pro per.

One thing that tells me that Hughes confession was real was his description: When he and Shandra were struggling, little three year old, Marcell, began crying, and ran between them.
That is what little kids do. When they are frightened or upset, they run to the person they trust and want to be lifted into their arms. For that he was stabbed to death.

I made my self appear on Beunka Adams’ post here, and I said that I was in the middle when it came to the death penalty. I still feel the same way – not sure if I’m pro or anti (I’ll admit I’m more anti, though, for more than just “It’s wrong” reasons). However, vile pieces of shit like this often make me want to rethink my position. I feel if any kind of creature is worthy of the death penalty it’s “people” like this. May he rot in hell.
I’ve got to say that I respected Adams’ final statement. Too little/too late but….
