This is not a surprise to anybody who watches sports.

Mark Levin writes:

“I could never stand that little hobbit Bob Costas,” Levin, author of “Ameritopia: The Unmaking of America,” said. “He’s a liberal. Looks like he’s had some face work, his hair’s been dyed. So he’s all rework. One thing these surgeons can’t give him is height. Now, I have to draw another conclusion. There are a handful of really smart people in sports broadcasting. Again, I would count Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth — there’s several others. I like [Howie] Long. I like — there are others, I can’t name them all.”

“That said, I’d say 90 percent of them are really stupid, stupid people. Another guy I love is Stephen A. Smith,” Levin continued. “But the point is this: for the most part these are very stupid people. And I know this because every time they dabble outside their area of ‘expertise,’ — quote, unquote — they sound like really stupid people.”

Consider that most sports broadcasters are former professional athletes. And prior to that, they were the horribly named “student athletes.” Most of whom were admitted to college under special administration rules devised specifically for athletes who would never be admitted to that school based solely on their academic credentials or ability.

There’s a reason why a defensive back who can barely write intelligible English, and likely cheated his way to an 800 SAT score is admitted to a university where all other non-athlete incoming students were required to score…say a minimum of 1200 on their SATs.

Yes…I’m saying that colleges let in a bunch of academically incompetent athletes, then bundle them through made-up or light-weight degree programs (“General Studies” and “Communications” seem to be a common programs for college football players), providing tutors, test-files, and what ever other help they need to remain barley academically eligible to play.

Excluded from this are collegiate golfers who, on average, are probably smarter than the student body as a whole.

  1. I love Christmas lights.

They remind me of the people who voted for Obama.

They all hang together; half of them don’t work, and the ones that do, aren’t all that bright.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

  2. colleges let in a bunch of academically incompetent athletes

There are two universities in the state of Texas that require athletes to meet the same entrance requirements as the rest of the student body. One is Rice and the other is Sam Houston State. Just so happens the athletic director at Sam Houston State is a Rice graduate.

Excluded from this are collegiate golfers who, on average, are probably smarter than the student body as a whole.

Believe it or not, it’s not collegiate golfers who are smarter than the average bear, but rather girls that play collegiate volleyball! Better looking too!

  3. Another guy I love is Stephen A. Smith,” Levin continued.

    That hurts your credibility!
