Today, the Journal News in upstate New York, owned by Gannett, published the names and addresses of all gun permit holders in the Westchester and Rockland county areas of New York. The Journal News said:
The map indicates the addresses of all pistol permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties. Each dot represents an individual permit holder licensed to own a handgun — a pistol or revolver. The data does not include owners of long guns — rifles or shotguns — which can be purchased without a permit. Being included in this map does not mean the individual at a specific location owns a weapon, just that they are licensed to do so.
The newspaper didn’t even feel it necessary to publish a rationale for that violation of privacy – publishing the names and addresses of gun owners makes them more vulnerable to robbery when they aren’t at home, since criminals will know where the guns are.
As soon as I read this, I immediately thought (and tweeted) that it’s time to start publishing the names, photographs, and addresses of reporters, editors, and publishers in the MSM:

Like the fact that Hasson is married with one child. And that her home is valued at $1.3 million (Wow. The newspaper business pays pretty good, huh?).
I bet there’s real nice stuff in a home that cost that much. And, unless she’s a flaming hypocrite (very possible, given that she is a liberal), they likely don’t have any weapons in their nice home with which to protect their nice stuff iff’n someone were to show up and try to appropriate it for their own personal use.
Now, imagine the outrage if Fox News decided to post the names and addresses of all women who have had abortions at Planned Parenthood over the last year…

So i opened the link to –and read– the article in question, my reaction to which is: how has an undetailed map covered in dots representing locations of people holding gun licenses (which the article specifies doesn’t nec. mean they actually carry/own one) become a list of specific names and addresses of people who carry guns? Who’s really going off the deep end here? (looks like it might be those who – surprise surprise – support gun ownership!) Who’s actually looking to justify any privacy acts? Yikes…
Because, Amy, this article is 5 months old and the papers in question deactivated their maps in response to the outrage they received for their bullshit. You use to be able to hover your mouse over the dots and you would get the names and addresses.
As to who is going off the deep end here — you, obviously.
To call libturds like this alleged woman(Hasson) a steaming pile of garbage is an insult to rotting waste every where.
I guess the bad guys looking for easy targets, with no weapons to fight back with, will just look for houses with no dots. If the Hassons have no guns for protection, I guess there’s no dot on there house. Hmmm . .
Mz. Hasson should be ashamed of herself. Her advertisers should find responsible newspapers.
One would think there might be some legal recourse for the individuals that have been publicly targeted by this “news professional”.
I would think at least a half assed case of criminal endangerment or something similar could be prosecuted.
