Or hell, for that matter, are any of you actually even from Texas?

This is what happens when a bunch of Liberals from areas with the strictest gun laws (D.C., Illinois, and New York) decide to have a little circle jerk about gun culture in America. And this is why I find their entire staff so eminently mockable.

Emily Ramshaw is a reporter for the totally unbiased and completely objective Texas Tribune. She’s originally from the Washington D.C. area, where guns were only allowed to be owned by criminals until the SCOTUS Heller decision changed that. So it’s somewhat understandable that she’s shocked (shocked, I tell you!) that there are entire magazines devoted to guns (and ammo):

Her colleague Reeve had at least heard of it, but added to the mocking tone:

And of course their lefty Editor in Chief, Evan Smith, had to add his snark:

Second amendment porn? Really, Evan? Tell us bitter clingers what you really thing about guns and those who own them.

Evan and Emily both graduated from the same Left-wing journalist factory at Northwestern University (Medill School of Journalism) in  Illinois (where guns are also only allowed to be owned by criminals), but is originally from that other bastion of second amendment freedoms, New York.

Ever the Lefty reporter, young and excitable Emily kept her eyes open hoping to find something mock-worthy in the newly-discovered “second amendment porn.”

And witty young Reeve stepped up to swat the t-ball that Emily had set up for him and took a swing at the most visible second amendment advocate since the passing of Charleston Heston:

And, then this:

Ok..we get it; you sneering Lefties at the Trib don’t like guns or the people who cling bitterly to them. Probably because you have never been exposed to them, have never owned one, definitely never served in the military where you might have been properly trained to shoot (and clean) ‘em, and only hold a CHL so that you can bypass the long lines and metal detectors at the Capitol.

But don’t let the fact that you don’t know the difference between a high capacity magazine and a clip, what bolt-action means, or even what an actual assault rifle is (and isn’t) prevent you from mocking those of us who hold this right dearly, above all others in our silly, antiquated Bill of Rights. Or from having an entire “gun-themed” Tribcast:

You know, if y’all employed even a single actual Conservative Texan on your staff (are there any actual Texans, regardless of political ideology, on staff, or did all of you move here from elsewhere to mock our culture and values?) who not only owns guns, but uses them regularly for hunting and other shooting sports, you might not look quite so ignorant when mocking them or trying to write about them.

  1. I was reading the old articles on the Trib & came across your exchange with Omar G. in the comments. Check out his twitter feed: total leftard.

    • I’m always tickled that none of the journalists I know from the Trib or Statesman can just admit the obvious, and what everybody else knows anyway — that they are liberals. I’m a Conservative, and it colors my writing. I freely admit it because I’m not ashamed of it. Yet none of these obviously liberal leftists can just admit that that they are Liberals.

Though, I guess if I were a Liberal, I’d be too embarrassed to admit it, too.

  2. I’m a libtard that votes Democrat, but this weekend I supported American manufacturing and bought my first rifle – a Colt AR-15 556. The price was step, but so is the risk of not having one. America is all we got left.

  3. I would have gotten a Bushmaster, but I figure if I am spending this kind of money might as well go Colt. The gun show in Fort Worth this weekend was like Grand Central Station.

  4. My response to Ramshaw’s mention of a the headline on gun hoarding is here — https://twitter.com/RhymesWithRight/status/283030291503804418

  5. In regards to the Texas Tribune staff … It is better to sit and be thought a fool than to “tweet” and remove all doubt!

BTW … have actually met Evan Smith … he is a small, weaselly little man with the handshake of a wet noodle. That fact alone told this Texan all I needed to know about the man!
