All of the inefficiencies of government bureaucracies. All of the bloat and corruption of public unions. All of the lowering-of-standards associated with affirmative action hiring (the US Postal Service has been artificially propping up the black middle-class for far too long. It’s little more than a jobs program for black people ^[1].)

If ever there was a government agency that should be eliminated (and there are thousand of them), it is long past time for the US Postal Service to be privatized.

But, instead of doing what makes the most sense, the USPS will instead try to cut some overhead costs by eliminating Saturday delivery ^[2] of the mail.

he U.S. Postal Service plans to announce Wednesday that it will end Saturday mail delivery, in one of the most significant steps taken to date to cut costs at the struggling agency.
A source familiar with the decision confirmed the plan to Fox News.
Under the proposal, the Postal Service will continue to deliver packages six days a week. The plan, which is aimed at saving about $2 billion, would start to take effect in August.
The move accentuates one of the agency’s strong points — package delivery has increased by 14 percent since 2010, officials say, while the delivery of letters and other mail has declined with the increasing use of email and other Internet use.

Despite providing one day less of service, don’t expect the heavily unionized USPS workers — Heaven forbid — to take a cut in pay or hours. No. They’ll continue to do their best to contribute to the bankrupting of our nation. After all, the primary role of the USPS is not to deliver your mail: it’s to keep (mostly black) public union workers free loading on the government tit.

No shit…I hate picking up our mail every few days. Because the only thing in it is crap. I’ve unsubscribed to just about all paper-delivery for any mail that I used to receive (bank statements, bills, etc.).
