How’s the Weather?

But here in Austin today? A bit windy, but a nice sunny 63 degrees. So I spent the day out at Commons Ford Ranch with the dogs, running around, throwing a frisbee, playing in the lake — just enjoying the day.

I didn’t count, but it looks like there were 25-30 Danes and their owners at the park this morning — it’s a great opportunity to let our big dogs play with other similarly sized dogs, and a great chance to get tips on training, nutrition, health, etc. from other Dane owners.

We spent all day yesterday pampering him (he enjoyed a half pound of rare roast beef for dinner) and showering him with affection. I think he finally knew his time was up, and was ready to be put to rest.

We don’t have kids. We have dogs instead — in addition to Otis (3) and Jackie (10), we also have another Beagle, Kosmo (6), which was my Valentine’s gift from my wife the year before we got married. But they are very much a part of our family.
