But here in Austin today? A bit windy, but a nice sunny 63 degrees. So I spent the day out at Commons Ford Ranch with the dogs, running around, throwing a frisbee, playing in the lake — just enjoying the day.
I didn’t count, but it looks like there were 25-30 Danes and their owners at the park this morning — it’s a great opportunity to let our big dogs play with other similarly sized dogs, and a great chance to get tips on training, nutrition, health, etc. from other Dane owners.
Can pit bulls smoke weed?
Which means that me and the mutts are on our own until she gets back…
Meet Angus, a Black Great Dane puppy. I’m not sure how much he weighs right now, but he dwarfs our Lab/Dane (Otis), who weighs 120 lbs
People who have children should never own pit bulls. If you do, and that dog ends up killing or maiming your child, then you should be brought up on felony child endangerment charges.
We spent all day yesterday pampering him (he enjoyed a half pound of rare roast beef for dinner) and showering him with affection. I think he finally knew his time was up, and was ready to be put to rest.
If it’s a pitt bull, then you know it is dangerous. If it is out attacking people, it was not properly secured. Case closed.
We don’t have kids. We have dogs instead — in addition to Otis (3) and Jackie (10), we also have another Beagle, Kosmo (6), which was my Valentine’s gift from my wife the year before we got married. But they are very much a part of our family.
Continuing with the dog-related blogging from yesterday.
Whenever you hear a story about a person being attacked by a dog — without reading the story first, what breed of dog immediatley jumps to mind? Did you say “Beagle”, “Labrador Retreiver”, or “Border Collie”?
There’s just something about pitbull owners…it’s a statement dog, and the statement that pitbull owners are trying to portray is almost always a negative one. Are there good pitbulls and good pitbull owners? Maybe.
This year I stayed home and watched the Super Bowl with my wife (who watched the second and third quarters only before she had to go upstairs and watch Desperate Housewives and our mostly-disinterested pets.
