Their top musical recommendation for the ACL fest is Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears on Sunday.
I attended the fist 4 ACL festivals, but haven’t been to the last 3, mostly because of the uninspiring lineups. But this year is a must see lineup.
Color me unimpressed. No way I’m paying the $170 three-day pass ticket price for that line up. No way am I fighting the crowds, the dust, and the heat for that lineup.
Austin Sound Check has found a poster for this year’s 2008 Austin City Limits (ACL) music festival. I didn’t go last year, but this year’s lineup has a lot of artists I’d like to go see:
3 days, 8 stages, 130 bands — all within a short bicycle ride from my house. That’s the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival. And it starts today at 11:15 a.m. with Claire Small.
Van Morrison, Tom Petty, and Willie Nelson? All in the same weekend? Outstanding!
If you’re going this year: have fun, be prepared, be patient, and on Saturday, be careful.
Very few other band catch my eye. I’ll have to start exploring some of the music from bands on the list that I’m not familiar with and see which ones I might want to catch live.
The third ACL Festival was more like the second festival than the second was like the first. Except bigger and hotter.
