A member of the House Armed Services Committee plans to introduce legislation next week designed to put the brakes on repeal of the military’s ban on openly gay troops.

Now that DADT has been overturned and gays will soon (but not yet) be allowed to serve openly in the US Military, the last excuse for Ivy League schools to ban ROTC from campus has been removed.

I really hope this turns out to be not a big deal and that the transition is smooth, but the pessimist in me is concerned about the effect activists could potentially have.

But I’ll humor you for a moment, Johnny — if it is time to end DADT (I don’t think it is), then there are probably a few other exclusionary groups that should come to an immediate end the moment DADT does, wouldn’t you agree?

Ace in a Federal Judges decision to halt DADT: “But that’s what we have judges for, I guess. Fixing our political decisions when we get them wrong. I’m so happy we have editors!”

From the Washington Times: Asked by The Washington Times whether Gen. Conway has expressed opposition to the president’s proposed policy change, his spokesman, Maj. David Nevers, did not answer directly. But, he said in a formal statement: “Our Marines are currently engaged in two fights, and our focus should not be drawn away from those [...]

Military life is not always easy, and war truly is hell. Those who strive in the military do so because they understand the nature of personal sacrifice for the greater good.
