Unfortunately for the Edwards’ family, the Patriot Guard Riders — who were founded specifically to counter this hate-group — doesn’t ride to protect non-Military or Veterans. However, hopefully there will be plenty of other locals who show up to counter and oppose Phelps and his mongrel clan.
I’m obviously no fan of Fred Phelps and his unholy band of incestuous “church” members who protest the funerals of our fallen military heroes. It’s why I joined the Patriot Guard Riders and have ridden on more than 50 funeral missions over the last several years.
This morning I rode 54 of my fellow Patriot Guard Riders to the memorial service for Cpt. Rowdy Inman in Killeen, Tx (home of Ft. Hood, were Cpt. Inman was stationed).

The American Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit Friday in the U.S. District Court in Jefferson City, Mo., on behalf of the fundamentalist Westboro Baptist Church, which has outraged mourning communities by picketing service members’ funerals with signs condemning homosexuality.
