Obama said some nice things. Avoided talking about himself (which in itself is a pretty major accomplishment). But it was not inspired nor inspiring. It definitely did not live up to the enormity of the event.

I just received noticed that the Central Texas Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by LTC Hicks, the Commander of North Fort Hood, to welcome returning Soldiers from Main Post after the Memorial Service

While the Army hasn’t officially ascribed a motive to Hasan, the picture from others who were there or had served with Hasan makes it pretty clear that this was an Islamic act of Jihad.

There aren’t many details yet, but it’s being reported that 3 gun men are responsible for 7 deaths and 12 injuries at the Soldier Processing Center at Ft. Hood (near Killeen).
