I completely support Gen. McChrystal — especially over any of his politically-motivated civilian counterparts and “superiors.” But I also understand why he had to resign following the article.
Bruce at Q&O: “Of course the irony is thick – Gen. David Petraeus, the man the left labeled “General Betrayus” and then Senator Hillary Clinton essentially called a liar about Iraq, has now been called upon to pull the presidential bacon out of the fire in Afghanistan”
Jay Tea at Wizbang: “The relationship between President Obama and the top ranks of the military have never been good. Obama has always had stronger alliances with the anti-military faction of the left than with the pro-military side”
In honor of Time’s Person of the Year award, I also like to point out the counterpart — the Worst person of the Year. And this year’s Worst Person of the Year goes to Major Nidal Hassan for being the worst kind of traitor: a US Soldier turned Islamic jihadist who murders his own fellow Soldiers.
If only Obama had some actual, first-hand military experience instead of the palpable disdain he has for the military
