We’re not celebrating the fact that Byrd has died. But we are and can celebrate the fact that he is no longer in the US Senate stealing money from honest tax paying citizens to line his own pockets and those of his constituents cronies.
I have nothing good to say about this man or his career in the Senate. Which does not mean that I take any type of pleasure in the news of his death, though. Despite him being an awful man, he had friends and family whom I’m sure loved him dearly and are mourning the loss of the man more so than the loss of a Senator.
And all that pork in West Virginia did nothing more than build a monument to one of the most vile and corrupt men who has ever served in Congress…but did nothing to actually help the fools who repeatedly vote him back into office.
How secure does it make you feel to see this sobbing senile old man with so much power in the Senate?
That West Virginians keep voting this guy back into office long after he’s pretty close to brain-dead doesn’t do much to squash stereotypes about the intellect of the denizens of the Mountain State.
this senile old man (he just turned 90) can’t even change his own diapers anymore and should have retired a long, long time ago.
