The University of Texas has announced plans to offer nine massive open enrollment, online courses during the 2013-14 academic year.
I think this video of a “Barrack Obama” running into the middle of the street without looking both ways, and then getting thrown under a bus is some kind of perfect metaphor of the real Obama’s entire reign.
Make what you will of this, but apparently the University of Texas just acquired ~$1billion in physical gold.
College football season has ended. Well, at least for my beleaguered Texas Longhorns. Our season has ended much, much sooner than we’re used to here in Austin after losing to the aTm Sheep Herders last night, 24-17.
That’s 2.4% of the university’s staff and faculty losing their jobs when the state unemployment average is still about 8.5%. When that many fellow Texans are losing their jobs, there is no way that these tax-funded positions should be exempt from the same economic forces causing the rest of us to cut back.
Oh, and the fact that the Longhorns won 8-2 to sweep the three game weekend series vs. the trees of Stanford? All the sweeter.
If you want to be a professional student — go do it at another university that doesn’t have a waiting line of students trying to get their shot at attending our state’s most prestigious university. Get your ass to Sam Houston State University or Texas State.
This is the kind of kid that you can really root for, and if anybody personifies the “American dream”, it’s a kid like Reggie Wilson. I can’t wait to see him play for the Burnt Orange
