There’s a remarkable difference between how Republicans and Democrats handle scandal

Earlier today, a federal judge froze Rep. William Jefferson’s (D-LA) asset. As opposed to Jefferson’s usual practice of freezing his own assets.
And it’s even more damning than I previously thought and explains why it has taken so long for the investigation to result in this indictment:
Jefferson shouldn’t even have to be asked to resign. He should just do it. But he won’t. Nor will he even be pressured to do so by his colleagues. What a sad, sad indictment on our political “leaders”.
Remember when the new Democratic leadership promised to drain the swamp of corruption, and to run the “cleanest Congress evah”?
Well, if you haven’t figured it out yet — they lied.
Taken by itself, this is seems like a rather small ethics violation (but a violation nonetheless) — but when you add it to Mr. Jefferson’s inglorious past of corruption, it looks more like a pattern.
That’s not going to happen. Because the race card trumps the do-the-right-thing card every single time in the Congressional Black Caucus.
Because that’s where and how most honest people would safe guard $100K in legally-earned cash. In the freezer. In a bag of frozen peas.
And how much did he bribe the good ol’ progressive Representative from the Bayou State? Mr. Jackson acknowledged that the amount was $367,500 over four years.
